Prestige is Mayer Homes. Mayer went out of business and then changed their name. Same phone number and office location. We built a Mayer/ Prestige home in 2007. The day of closing walk-through there was water in our basement, foundation cracks that were eventually epoxied. We were reluctant to close due to the number of issues and were told they would sue us if we did not close on schedule. Fourteen years later we have more floor to ceiling foundation cracks. The driveway is severely cracked, sidewalk and curb deteriorating and all in need of replacement. The HVAC system was undersized for our square footage, so it overworked trying to do the job and after 5 years the AC was constantly in need of service and we were then told in need of replacement. The plumbing pipes burst on the first floor bath after 5 years. (The home next door which is also a Mayer/Prestige home had severe plumbing pipes busted on second floor, flooded entire home) We have continuous electrical issues. I can't possibly mention all of the ongoing issues here, but hope to enlighten those who may be considering building with this company. I am personally involved in the home building industry so I have knowledge of. My home was purchased at $400, 000 and my resale value has been severely affected by the construction. Please consider speaking to others in subdivisions built by Mayer/ Prestige, pretty sure you will experience similar complaints. I would NEVER build a home with them again.
