By Alexis D.September 22, 2022Install doors, remove popcorn ceilings, redo closets$6,000
A promised two week project turned into five months. This included one of three tasks being stopped and left undone due to an inaccurate promise of what he could produce. There was not only poor communication, consistently inaccurate timelines, and repetitive excuses blaming everyone else as to why things weren't correct -- but we were disappointed to find that there was a complete lack of honesty, integrity, and trust. Our experience was absolutely horrendous, and we would HIGHLY advise anyone looking for any construction work to look elsewhere.

By Regina T.April 6, 2021Remodel of entire home$100,000
Joseph Evans LLC was hired to do the job. The job was started in 4 Sept 2020. After 7 months in my home, it is destroyed and unlivable. I am still staying with family as I try to get someone to come in and fix the damage to the property. Joseph did not pay his subcontractors, which resulted in a $9100 lien against my property. He defrauded me and misappropriated the monies given to him which was well over $50,000. After contacting a local construction lawyer, I was told that Joseph Evans not only owed monies out, he has IRS liens, as well as liens against his business and home. I went to the local police department to see if I could file criminal charges against Joseph and they stated it was a civil case. Joseph Evans is a thief that will take your money and give every excuse known to man and woman. He should not be allowed to be a contractor in the state of Texas or anywhere else. He is a menace in the community and in my opinion should be in a jail cell for what he has done to my home and my life. As a military member who has served this country proudly and honorably, I am letting you know that this man is not a person of his word and given the chance he will destroy your property and your life. Do NOT LET THIS MAN IN YOUR HOME.

When I inquired about getting a quote from him he was in contact with me by the next day. I never had to go looking for him. He presented his ideas and listened to what I was wanting. He always kept me informed on what was going on and stayed on top of the job. Very respectful young man and never disrespectful. He followed up on all my questions. I know a little bit about construction so I felt maybe I was in the way at times but he never indicated that I was. Because i am disabled he went above what we agreed on and did a few things extra for me that saved me having to try and do it..ie: painting...I was reconnecting a sprinkler line and one of his guys were here and helped me out. Made it a lot easier. They kept the site clean. Anytime there was a misunderstanding of what i wanted done and what he understood I wanted..he would always fix it to please me. you can't go wrong using Joseph. At least in my opinion.......
Description of work:
These guys were great. He had great communication skills. When ever I had a question he would inform me in a way I could understand. We had a new bath add on and a screen porch. -
By Lee S.March 27, 2017Siding and window installation$12,00040 days
I had partial siding put on my brick home and had windows installed. The craftsmanship was phenomenal on the siding and the windows also. I was very satisfied with the price. My house looks really nice. I recommend this contractor.

Do not hire Joseph Evans construction he will take your money, overcharge you double charge you and misappropriate your funds. We hired him and he pocketed our money and we had to pay to have all subcontractors finish the job. DO NOT Hire him he will just take your money and leave you with nothing but trouble.

We hired Joseph Evans to remodel our home in February of 2022. He wrote in our contract that we would be able to move in at the end of March. We ended up paying him $100,000. They ripped everything out, repainted, put down flooring, all new doors, new canister lights that are all installed incorrectly and falling out of the ceiling. It is March of 2023 and our home does not have a kitchen or second bathroom. He led us on and used every excuse and lie that anyone could ever come up with to explain why work was not being done. We picked out faucets and paint colors but he used other materials.
We picked out granite countertops and cabinet colors. For months and months he had an excuse every single day. He lied repeatedly about tomorrow and next week. We now have an IKEA kitchen sink. We cannot afford cabinets right now. Our second bathroom is missing a sink, shower, tub, cabinets, etc. The outside of the house has been primed for paint, but not painted. All of the windows were covered in overspray because we were supposed to get new windows. We did not get new windows and have slowly scraped most of the paint away. The attic had all insulation removed but not replaced.
My bracelet went missing while they were touching up paint inside. Someone took the cable box.
We stayed in hotels from February through August. It was absolutely not a good situation for my son who was six.
This man is a liar and a crook. He wrote and signed a contract to a complete remodel of the house. We paid him $100,000. He owes us at least $40,000. He tricked us.
