By Joe R.August 30, 2016Paving job$4,5001 day
I had a driveway paved and a repair done on a parking lot. Also, the entire lot sealed. Sam and his crew were great. They communicated great, Sam explained exactly what he would do in detail and did exactly what he said. Did not ask for any money until I was satisfied with the job. Pleasure to deal with. Finally, after 35 years of buying, selling and renovating homes I found a good paver. Two thumbs up for this company.

STAY AWAY!! This company is toxic. The owner will treat you like garbage, scream at you. He is dishonest and deceitful. He will talk down to you and tell you that you know nothing. He has attempted to pave my driveway 3 times. I have never been treated so horrible by a “professional” in my life. Yelling at me on my own property because of his lack of capability to his own job.
They called me asking to quote my driveway project because they had an opening. They ended up doing it the same day and I regretted it instantly.
They quoted me to dig out 3-6” of sod and put stone down. In reality they skimmed the yard and put 2-4” of crush crete down if I’m lucky. They told me they would pitch the driveway to the street. In reality they pitched half to one side and the other half directly to the neighbors yard (imagine a twist design). Upsold me on a same day sealant that really shouldn’t be applied for a minimum of 3 months (I called the manufacture of the sealant). They then got an immense amount overspray all over my sidewalks. Didn’t clean up anything as well. I brought these initial concerns up right away and the owner assured me everything would be fine.
Fast forward 4 weeks: driveway puddles everywhere when it rains. First time I drove on it with a small suv, giant ruts everywhere (as if they didn’t properly prepare the site for the driveway). Took WEEKS to even get him to respond to a message let alone come look at the problems. Once at my house the owner was very rude and argues with every concern you have. “He knows more than you” “he’s been doing this his whole life” “those people don’t know what they are talking about”. I begged him to fix his mistake since the driveway is within a one year warranty and he refused to address the issue until the fall (project started in may). I asked him to dig out the driveway and properly prepare the area so it would stop sinking and he argued saying that the proper fix was to simply “top” the existing work. I told him I don’t think that’s the proper repair but I guess I need to allow him to try and fix it his way first. He assured me a 2” top of asphalt would fix the issue. Once fall arrived it took me again about a month to get the owner on site and check out the driveway. Then an additional month to schedule the repair. The crew shows up and hand shoveled about .5-1” of asphalt on top of the driveway I asked him to please talk to me before he leaves. He gets in his truck and drives away. Fast forward 4 weeks. Driveway is STILL sinking!! The entire driveway is lumpy and chipping apart!
Fast forward 5 MONTHS of him refusing to respond to calls/texts/emails. Afyer writing some reviews online he responds to me telling me he will fix this. He writes me a new contract to excavate and start over in the summer. After weeks in July/august of him being unable to perform any work he finally schedules a day to do the job. Then cancels the job because it’s too hot for his guys. Then reschedules again for a Saturday to remove all material and stone it to allow it to dry. Shows up, dogs it all out and states he can’t find stone on a Saturday it’ll have to wait until Monday. Pours Sunday. Shows up Monday and says the driveway is dry enough to do the job. I bring to his attention his lack of digging deep enough AGAIN and he insist he knows what he’s doing.
Fast forward a month. Huge section of the driveway is sinking/shifting when driven on (same section I pointed out that was “fine”). Continues to get into yelling fits with me. Tells me it’s my property’s fault. I’ve had multiple contractors out and they all confirm it was installation error. He again treats me like garbage because I’m “talking to people about his work”. Offers to saw-cut and patch my driveway (for the 4th time!). I refuse and insist on my money back. He continues to argue and tel at me about how I should have “paid him more” to do a better job.
This company is a SCAM. I’ve had people since contact me with the same issues with him. He will rob you of your money. You’ve been warned. 19 months and counting
