What a nightmare. Wayan Wayne Asefi/Teresa Patino/Tariq Aslami/Probuilders Construction left my project in shambles. They took my deposit and strung me along with lies in regards to reasons why there was not any work done. After months of chasing Wayan, he stopped all contact. Wayan has never produce any invoices for material or services when asked. After 6 months of delays we fired them and the nightmares continued. Within a few days after new contractor took over, he found numerous issues. Permit was pulled but no inspections was done before sheetrock/texture/paint done. What he concealed was 1/2 the house had no electricity or hot water. Numerous electrical outlets where hidden behind drywall. Within a week or 2, subcontractors, vendors for material, and employees came looking for Wayan for none payment or bounced checks. All threatening mechanics lien on property if they didn't get paid. Just found out they changed there name to Bay Area Kitchen and Bath Inc using the same contractors license #959734. Please stay away and call the cops. These guy are scammers.

Wayan Asefi (Pro-Builders Construction and later Bay Area Kitchen and Bath)was hired by my husband and me in March of 2017 to renovate our entire home at a contract price of 150,000. He applied to work for us under permit number 959734.
From the very beginning there were issues. He took a 40k deposit which we later learned was illegal under CA contractor law. He then proceeded to demo nearly our entire home, in whole or in part leaving us only a dining/bath space in which to live. He made constant excuses as to why building permits had not yet been pulled and did only work he felt he could get away with “while he waited for permit finalization” (this turned out to be untrue. He never pulled a single city building permit). So he did work like demo, concrete pouring in our backyard, stucco work and some plumbing and electric, all illegal, all shoddy and all of which had to be replaced.
For five months he made constant excuses as to why our house renovation was not progressing. He blamed the laborers, the permit office, the engineer, etc. Everybody but himself. We lived in a home with nothing but temporarily and partial drywall covering the walls. There were holes everywhere. We could see the sky and feel the breeze through the many cracks and holes in our “temporary” walls.
Wayan took a lot of money from us. All ostensibly for materials. He took money for tubs, fixtures, counters, wood flooring, tiles, appliances, windows and doors, etc. However whenever we asked for a receipt, he conveniently “didn’t have then on him.” He provided only two.. for our kitchen cabinets which he marked up 3x wholesale and for our concrete slab which he doubled the price of. We found this all out later.
We finally caught Wayan in his lies when Home Depot confirmed for us that the order for a French door that we had made together was canceled the very next day. He allowed us to believe that door was “on its way” for 2.5 months. He was perfectly comfortably leaving our home exposed to the elements as that door was the only thing that was going to keep the rain out come winter. Wayan had left a huge, barely covered by old drywall hole in our wall.
Because the guy from Home Depot called us while Wayan was in our presence, he could no longer wiggle out of the lies he had been telling. We had exposed Wayan for the fraud that he was, and as such he signed a full confession, which we have in file both in hard copy. We have video of him signing this confession. Wayan agreed to repay us the money that he took and signed a promissory note. We have spent the intervening two years trying to get repaid. To date he has returned 15,000 out of the over 150,000 he owes us. DO NOT do business of any sort with his man. He will make you believe he is a good guy. He is not. He will happily spend your money and you are likely never to see it again. Oh, did I mention Wayan also removed the handrail from our stairwell which resulted in my husband to fall down the steps and to undergo surgery on both disconnected knees? Yes. He did that too. Beware. Truly. I have evidence to back up every bit of this review.
