Pro Rank Pools

I had a very negative and disappointing experience with Pro Rank Pools. Everything started off fine and we scheduled an appointment for Ismael to come out to review my pool and deck area where I wanted to have work done. Ismael measured the pool and deck area and a few days later he sent me a cost estimate for the work.

I was also in the process of getting other cost estimates and conducted a great deal of research on cost for replastering, coping, tile and deck work. I compared Pro Ranks estimate to others I received and they were no frills and came in at a reasonable price. I called Ismael and let him know I wanted to go over his proposed estimates and see if we can get some reductions. We scheduled a time and when Ismael showed up, we went over each line item and I went over my research for each task and questioned the pricing quoted. I explained to Ismael what I thought was a fair and reasonable charge per sq ft and linear ft based on my research. Ismael agreed to bring the cost estimates down and gave me his verbal commitment. I asked for a revised cost estimate for the scope of work per our agreement and Ismael's verbal commitment on reducing the price.

After a few days passed, I didn't hear back from Ismael and I texted him and left him several messages. Ismael didn't respond to my texts and phone messages. I finally was able to reach Ismael, he picked up the call and said he was working on getting pricing from his subs and will get back to me soon. I again waited but didn't hear anything. I finally sent a few more text and called Ismael. He finally answered and advised me that he couldn't honor the price he committed to and now saying he already discounted the price quote. Keep in mind that Ismael never mentioned to me that the price was discounted nor was there any reflection of price discounts in the written estimate. I told him I was disappointed that he would not honor his verbal commitment in the price to perform the work and this is very unprofessional to lure customers then walk away from a promise in a price made to me as a customer.

After a week or so, I ran across Pedro's Yelp response to me. I found Pro Rank pools in Yelp and Pedro was the one who responded and indicated Ismael would contact me. I wrote a comment on the original yelp message that I was very disappointed about the bait and switch tactics and the fact that Ismael would not honor the price he committed to me. Pedro asked for an opportunity to make this right and if he could call me after 2pm. Pedro asked me not to post any negative reviews and let him look into the matter.

The day was coming to an end and I didn't get a call from Pedro. He finally sent me a text and said I wasn't on his agenda and he got busy. He asked if he could call me tomorrow. I told him the only time I could take a call was at 1230pm. Pedro confirmed to call me at 1230pm. The next day came and 1230 rolled around and no call. I texted Pedro and said I was ready. No reply. At 1250pm, Pedro called and we talked, Pedro said he was sorry there was nothing he could do about Ismael's price commitment even though he confirmed that Ismael made the verbal commitment to reduce the price quote. He went on to say there was no contract and nothing was signed. I told him this was why I asked for a revised cost estimate per my meeting with Ismael. Pedro said they would not honor the price commitment and I told him this was very unprofessional conduct as a business and they should not make price commitments if they didn't intend to honor it.

So here I am writing this review. I do not recommend Pro Rank Pools as they lack the integrity of their word. They lack professionalism and if they can't keep their word. Then how does this reflect in how they perform the work. Do they cut corners and use cheaper materials. This is a poor reflection on this business. I hope my review will prevent other customers from being lied to and misled by Pro Rank Pools and their team.
