    Fireplace Rennovation

    We had a wood burning fireplace, built into a wall of the family room. Our goal was to reface the wall with stone, lower the hearth by about 10", convert the fireplace to gas burning with a remote control, and to mount a 55" TV above the the fireplace.

    Pro Tech Construction was the first company to respond to our inquiry. They came to our house, listened to what we desired, and came back with a bid within our budget within a day or two.

    My wife and I were particularly impressed by the knowledge of the owner, Tony. After listening to our requirements, he made some suggestions about how best to proceed. He had solutions for problems we hadn't even identified yet.

    The project is now complete. We have a 10" high hearth, stacked stone from floor to ceiling, a gas burning fire with remote control, and my 55" UHD TV, sitting proudly, and securely, above the fireplace.

    From alerting us to when workers would be arriving, to timeliness of work performed, to the aesthetics and excellence of construction and cleanup, we are more than pleased with the result.

    Rest assured, we will be using Pro Tech for many future home projects, and have no problem recommending them to friends and neighbors.

    Refused to give us an itemized list of materials, labor costs, etc. as work was in progress. Left the end of the job with my having to do a lot of the cleanup. Did not have a clearly written and spelled out contract, omissions and context errors in relation to verbal promises at the beginning. The 2 stars are for 2 excellent hard workers, almost a third one for the painter (but he left a mess on the vanity and in the tub.) Too much nickel and diming for extra fees by the owner.

    Hello I'm sorry to hear about this negative review. In response to your complaints, everything was written and spelled out in the contract with your allowances. We gave allowances for the tile and faucets, since the materials chosen went over the allowance the difference is left for you the customer if you so choose to continue with those more expensive materials. A full home cleaning is not included in the contract as with any home remodel the house will get dusty. We sent out or top employee to clean the site associated with the remodel. The painters mess was also cleaned. As far as an itemized list this job was set as a fixed contract not a material plus labor contract, the final price agreed upon was given without itemization.     Pro Tech did an AMAZING job on our kitchen remodel!! They removed a wall, added a window, and gave me a gas stove! Complete new kitchen with cabinets and countertops and the beautiful floors! They designed the whole thing and I can't believe the transformation that was done! They were very clean and professional! Their bid was the lowest out of the 3 contractors I received estimates from. I recommend them to everyone I know how needs a contractor.
