    The experience with Prodigy was terrible, almost from the first day. They provided us a layout of the home which indicated one of the bedroom sizes was significantly bigger than it actually was. We are not architects and we trusted Prodigy so we did not actually take a magnifying glass out to review the architectural plans; we reviewed the customer sheet that clearly laid out the home and the sizes of each room. They laid our tile in all of our rooms incorrectly and refused to correct it. Why give people the opportunity to customize things like tile if you are not going to follow through with their request? It was a mistake on their end and one that could have been remedied, even with an apology but we NEVER got one. Subs for the tile company did terrible work, including our grout being replaced THREE times, and refused to correct the rest of the work that was awful. The builder indicates that this is a product issue and it is not; I was told by multiple tile professionals as well as the grout representative that it is installer error. In addition, leaving jagged edges and filling chipped tiles with caulking is not a product issue - that is most certainly a character issue for the subs he hires. It's unfortunate that this was our dream and they made it awful because of the arrogance and lack of communication. We have gone into many of the homes near us that he has built and ALL have failing grout. He takes on way too many jobs with a small staff and hires the cheapest subs to get the work done quickly and doesn't care that the final product is someone's dream that they've worked very hard for.

    It is disappointing to hear that Mrs. Machart is less than happy with her experience with us. Although the Real Estate flyer had a mistyped measurement in one of the bedrooms, the actual floorplans did have the correct measurements. These correct measurements were clear, and they were signed off on by the buyers. It is worthwhile to note that this mistake was caught and addressed early in the build. The buyers made the decision to move forward with construction, indicating that they accepted the correct room size. While we do have many customization options and give buyers a wide array of selections to choose from, we are still a production builder. So, while buyers can choose from standard patterns for their tile to be laid in, the direction for the tile pattern is decided on by the builder and installer on site. By allowing buyers to choose the pattern but not the direction, they get some customization options while still allowing us to streamline our homebuilding process. The grout problem mentioned by Mrs. Machart was, in fact, due to a problem with the material and not the quality of workmanship. This issue was corrected. We greatly value our subcontractors and work with them because they do a great job. If this were not the case, we would not have been awarded “Best Workmanship” for the last 4 years in the Parade of Homes. All of our subs, including our tile installers, surpass industry quality standards and assist us in creating a beautiful final product. While we provide many options to our buyers, we are not a custom builder. We are confident, however, that we build beautiful, high-quality production homes that allow for a measure of customization. Our team works tirelessly to provide The Best Experience and many other homebuyers and positive testimonials attest to that fact.
