By Larry L.January 1, 2020Pool pump repair
This was my first insurance request through American Home Shield. My pool pump was failing. It was still functioning marginally, but emitted screaming bearing failure along with a major leaking seal. My insurance request put me in touch with Provolt Services. Gary, ( from Provolt ), contacted me by phone. I explained my problem along with exact information of the type of pool pump in question. Gary set a time for his response to my home location. The weather was terrible on the day Gary had scheduled to arrive - - But he showed up as promised and brought with him an exact replacement pump. In approximately 2 hours, Gary had replaced the faulty pump and ran a successful test for effect. This was a very professional effort completed within 4 days of my original request to American Home Shield. An absolute outstanding effort... Larry L. from Simi Valley

I purchased my home less than a yr ago and since I've had 4 pool companies come out, they were all shady and liars. Im writing this review because my husband is a combat veteran who highly believes in Honesty. Gary has been the only Honest Person to come out and help us with our pool. He was referred by First American Home Warranty when our pool pump stopped working. He was able to tell us the problem, how to fix it and give us information on how to care for our pool. Going forward he is our go to guy. Thank you for your professionalism and honesty it is respected and appreciated more than I could express. If you need repairs this is your man, don't hesitate to call I promise you, you won't regret it. Please understand that he is busy due to all the referrals given to him. I had to dispute with my warranty since I didn’t want 2 of the prev company’s in my home.

Unfortunately, we had the same problem with Gary as the other complaints listed. Extremely flakey and took forever to get one repair done. Never returned calls and kept changing the appt to a later date, since he was “so busy.” AHS did not do the right thing when we alerted them to the issues, either. They passed us on to another repair company, which prolonged the repair yet another couple of weeks. Ultimately, AHS cares more about profit than customers and Gary doesn’t make enough profit on their customers to care. Both bad.

These guys were sub contracted through my home warranty company. They came out after about 10 calls then claimed the equipment was faulty. However, it took them 3 weeks to respond to the warranty company so my claim was delayed and my tenants were extremely upset. We then set an appointment to have the repairs made and this joker never showed up a complete flake. So save you self the headache DO NOT USE THESE JOKERS FOR ANYTHING, I think I would have had better luck with a baker making my pool repairs than using these so called pool guys.

NO CALL NO SHOW. Waited a week for our appointment, waited all day for Gary to come. He never came. He never called. He sent an email that night scheduling us for another week out. Would not return my 5 calls nor my email. Needed Gary's help because our pool heater is broken and my husband needs it for medical therapy. I guess our residential problem was not a big enough money maker to him to warrant his attention. He opted to service someone else that day. I am very disappointed.I am unable to use my own pool serviceperson because he is not licensed with our particular insurance company. I either have to pay full price and not get it covered by our insurance or find another contractor. I care for a baby and my husband is recovering from surgery and this is a stress I did not need. I feel helpless and sad. I need help and cannot get it. - Laura Monica

Gary is, by far, the best contractor we've ever had in any capacity working at our house. His knowledge and ability to detect pool problems and repair them has been excellent. I highly recommend him.
