DO NOT HIRE PRUNTY’S ELECTRIC! Read on to learn more!
My home was built in 1940. Izak toured my home and had a very clear understanding of my requests: if an outlet or switch is present, make certain it works, add outlets or switches as indicated (the attic and master bath were being renovated), replace the old cloth wiring with romex, and ensure everything electrical is up to code. I gave them permission to cut as many holes into walls or floors as needed, knowing my general contractor, Cornerstone Construction and Renovations, would repair them. I also told Izak that if at any time he finds anything electrical that needs attention to submit a change order which I would honor and pay. Essentially, Izak had Carte Blanc to do whatever he needed to do to fulfill my request which he verbally accepted the day we met.
A week or so later, Izak presented me with his SOS (scope of service) and requested 50 percent payment. To this day, I REGRET hiring him. Foolishly, I signed the SOS not realizing the content and verbiage of his SOS would eventually allow him to take many reckless shortcuts and provide himself with an out for his shoddy work at job completion.
Izak did not personally complete any services for me. He typically sent Will, Carter, and a few others. Will had primary leadership over whomever arrived.
Izak began work on Monday, April 29, 2024, and considered his job complete on July 28, 2024. On that day, he requested his final payment and presented me with his notice of completion which I was extremely hesitant to sign. Izak arrived without a single tool to test the functionality of outlets, switches, or breakers. He had another appointment after me and “just didn’t have the time to check everything”. Because I now live in a four-story house, I reminded him that I live alone, and it might take several months for me to ensure everything works as promised. He agreed to return if needed.
However, on Saturday, August 31, I began reaching out to him via text because multiple outlets were discovered to be non-functional. One of those supplied current to my refrigerator! Izak never responded.
I called him first thing Tuesday, September 3. He sent Will and a worker to resolve the problem. What was the problem, you might be asking? Will could not figure it out. He called Izak multiple times with questions, sent pictures, took instructions over the phone, and EIGHT new holes in the walls and one ruined piece of vintage baseboard later, NOTHING WAS RESOLVED. I still have a bedroom with only one working outlet. Code requires three, which are present, but two do not work. Izak has refused to return.
In closing, from beginning to end, Izak’s SOS took 13 weeks. Thankfully, my general contractor John, owner of Cornerstone Construction, knew Matt, a top-notch electrician who owns Phase 1 Electric. He stepped up and is currently in the process of correcting each and every error Izak’s company made.
