Let me start off by saying the quality of Dennis's work is fine. His thoroughness, time scheduling and customer service skills are not. If you use him be prepared for him to rush through your job, work for less than an hour but charge you for a full hour even though you have more work, missing areas you asked him to do, and possibly having profanities screamed at you.
In the last 2 months Dennis came into my home on 3 occasions and his main guy came once. For 3 of those 4 times they rushed through very fast. They clean up their tools and present you with an invoice before you know what's happening. Never asking you to check their work or if you need anything else.
I am doing a full renovation of my home and am working with a lot of contractors. Dennis has the most unfriendly and negative demeanor of them all. I asked his assistant if he was mad. He said no he's just a grumpy old man. Once he was here for less than an hour, handed me an invoice for $150 and with a negative tone says you just got $320 worth of work. Really! I thought your rate was $150 for the first hour so how is that possible? Such a tacky and unprofessional thing to say.
Every single time they've been out the have missed an area completely or forget to go back and texturize it. Once he accused me of telling him that I changed my mind and told not to patch a hole where a junction box was removed. I was waiting for it to be patched so I could schedule the alarm co to install a panel there so I'm positive I did not change my mind.
Well this last visit will be his final visit even though I will have more upcoming drywall work that needs to be done. I texted Dennis prior to the appointment with a picture of the 2 mains area that need to be done. In that text I mentioned I had a some other small areas as well and I offered to send pics if he wanted. The appointment was set and he did not request pictures. His guy shows up and did not know anything about the other areas and proceeds to show me his text from Dennis. Sure enough, no mention of the additional work. I showed him my text requesting the additional work. Immediately he starts telling me he was on a very tight schedule. He was able to get the 2 main area done plus a couple of the other small area but after 40 min he presents me with an invoice. I asked him to please finish the hour and get more of the small area completed. That's when everything went south. Really, you are quitting after 40 min when there's just a few more small areas to finish but you are charging me for a full hour?!? Which means I have to call you out again and pay you again. It was obvious that Dennis's lack of communication to his guy and extremely tight scheduling was the issue. His guy got Dennis on speaker phone and Dennis proceeds to scream profanity at me at the top of his lungs, "He's not going to do your whole f#%*ing house!" Wow! So to Dennis asking his guy to complete the hour is asking him to do my whole house! Seriously! The screaming and the profanity were over the top inappropriate and unprofessional.
During this renovation I've had a ton of major contractors through here -- demolition, cabinetry, countertops, tiling, flooring, plumbing, electrical. Drywall has been the most minor work of them all but working with Dennis has been the most negative and stressful experience of them all.
