I hired John Feroli to do work on a 203K rehab loan for my house in Somerville, MA. The largest part was building a "sister wall" up against the existing cracked foundation wall in my basement. John was significantly less expensive than another contractor ($20K vs $35K for the sister wall) but he did a fine job, communicated with the structural engineer, and the city inspector passed the wall without complaint.
John is an old school blue collar Boston type. He isn't going to be as professional as some of the contracting companies that show up in fancy SUV's and have people in suits who make bids and other people who do work at 9am on Monday morning. But, if you'd prefer to save money and work with someone down to earth and will work you in where his schedule will allow, he's a good choice.
