Steve Steen does not show up when he says he will and none of his work is done the way he says it will be. He blamed Menards because they sold the shingles he had reserved and we had to get different color. He couldn't replace skylights because they don't make them any more, just put on kits. The saga goes on and on. Suppose to repair hail damaged roof.

8 Weeks ago we signed a contract with this company. We paid them 3/4 of the contract price. They have never showed up to do the work. Steve Steen doesn't return phone calls. Winter is fast approaching in Iowa. We have a damaged roof. We are retired and on a fixed income and this company took our money and refuses to honor the contract.

We hired Steve steen from R&S roofing 9/25/2019 gave him 2800.00 for metal roof and labor he never showed up not even to patch are roof nothing we had to patch and tarp are own roof we had water coming through are ceiling fan plus the ceiling in are bedroom and water leaking in are front room as well Every time we talked to him he would say I’ll be there this coming week this went on every month excuse after excuse . Then he came by January 11 2020 to write up another contract that he would be here April 6th and done April 8th 2020 by this point we are out of patients my husband had words with steve after he broke the second contract are insurance company contacted Steve he claimed he wasn’t doing any roofing due to the COVID now and when restriction are lifted we would be the first ones on the list and he didn’t want my husband to call him again . Well my husband did and sent picture of the damages that were happing due to Steve’s Disappearance and neglect of our roof Steve called and told my husband that we would have to take him to court Cause he wasn’t doing the job we had asked Steve many time to bring are money back to bring material and rest of money or we would have to take him to court . So that was it Steve wasn’t coming or retuning the money I contacted Steve On May 28 2020 and talked to him about how this is wrong and he agreed he would do the roof for me not my husband cause other wise he would Have to take material back and he was taking 30% but he don’t want us to lose 30% so he promised me he would do the roof he would be here June 5 & 6th he didn’t show I called he said he would be there next weekend 13 or 14 of June never showed and we discussed if he didn’t show he said he would bring the money back and he was to come with money June 17 he did show he claimed he would come the next day June 18 still no money returned still no roof done it’s been 10 months , this guy is a fraud he took are money and ran . Why won’t he just give are money back . 2800.00 he robbed us . Shame us for not checking his reviews cause we would of never chose him he has done this to so many people . But shame on him for taking a family’s money and not doing the work while the house we have is being destroyed we took his word his word is no good , Steve is a very good talker that’s all he is . I would never recommend him ever I would put in BOLD PRINT (WARNING) do not use R&S roofing unless you want ripped off. No we are stuck trying to come up with money for are roof that steve stole .
