Zero stars would be a more appropriate rating. This is the most unprofessional and unresponsive company I've ever done business with, period. I experienced terrible/non-existent customer service with their rude and harassing management. R&M took over a year to completely finish a septic installation job as part of the purchase of our home, yet they expected payment before the job was completely finished, despite an escrow agreement for the job that outlined that they would be paid upon completion of ALL elements of the work. They delayed finishing the job for months, all while sending nasty statements claiming to charge monthly interest for a job that was not fully completed... interest they were not authorized to charge.
In my opinion, their antics are worthy of news reports, to the extent that we secured legal representation to combat their poor business practices and harassment. I have also heard from others in the southern MN area that they too have dealt with delay after delay from R & M Backhoe. So far the septic system has worked, which is certainly a good thing, but all of the baggage that comes with this company is, in my opinion, a strong and compelling reason to avoid them altogether. I never picked them in the first place, as the seller of the home got to decide which company to use. Evidently, you get what you pay for. Other companies might charge a little more, but I believe it is worth it to avoid R&M's management and their total lack of professionalism. If only the management was as professional as their crew. The crew that actually did the work was pleasant, but the management certainly was not . Please think twice before hiring this company.
