Teardown and building and painting of duplicate privacy fence at townhouse complex. We also hired him to redo several decks that involved total sanding of previous paint, repair and painting where non cedar decks were involved. He also built two benches and a planter for me. He always kept us informed when he could work and what his plans were (we had to juggle work around due to rainy weather). He cleaned up carefully at the end of each day. The major worker that sometimes accompanied him was obviously experienced in this type of work. The projects took longer than expected but weather played a huge role. Price was competitive and if any questions or concerns were voiced, he addressed them right away.

Too expensive. When I told them I was not going to use them as a company because they were expensive, their response was that all the other companies were going to do inferior work to their company. That was unacceptable to me.

At first Wally was responsive. He came a couple of times, measured, and sent a bid, which we agreed to. This was at the beginning of May. After we choose the pavers we wanted, he become less and less responsive to texts. On 4 separate occasions he was supposed to start the project and at first called with excuses and then finally just didn't show up or call.
This was extremely frustrating as we had moved plants around to make room for the bobcat, which was hard on them and a lot of work on our part, had rearranged our schedules to be home, and had made plans with a landscaper to come after he finished. By the time we realized he was not going to show up (just this last week) the season was already well underway and we lost all that time when we could have been finding someone else. So I can't comment on his work itself but as far as counting on him to show up when he says he will, or even have the courtesy to say he couldn't do the project, I give him an F.
