**BUYER BEWARE** These guys are the worst to deal with. They excepted a job that they did not know how to do Bob Ramberg the owner was supposed to build a dormer and then decided to hire his son because he did not know how to build a dormer. Later on I find out that he also doesn’t know how to read plans this was admitted to me by Bob himself. When asked how he is able to do business he said he usually has somebody on his team that knows how to read them. The problem became when these guys decided to cut open the roof of my property during a day where there was 90% chance of rain and the entire interior of the house was flooded. The walls were lath and plaster and the entire ceiling and walls begin to fail everywhere when asked for him to try and work it out and have him deal with all of the repairs he asked for more money.
They continued to let the water sit and let the property leak for weeks. They asked me continuously if I plan on paying them for the work that they did, which the total left do was around $6000 and some change. The amount of damage done was over $150,000. I said sure once we get this figured out I would be happy to pay you. When they realized that they were not going to get paid they said well we’re coming to take the tarp off of the roof and remove everything else and it was then I informed them that they are not to return to my property since they had no intention of finishing the work but only trying to make the situation worse.
This guy and his son are straight scam artist I would not trust them with building a doghouse. He then went and filed a lien against the property for the amount of over $12,000 after causing over $150,000 and knowing that our contract was only left for $6000. It took months to contact L&I and during that whole time he was holding the lien hostage knowing that he was delaying the project. Costing me thousands of dollars and interest and time. After much time with L&I he was found guilty and fined for improperly filing a lien.
He told me he was going to remove the lien, come to find out I was told months later that the lien was never removed despite being fined and told that it was a improper lien. He is now causing more damage to the property as it is preventing funds from being distributed we are going to be pursuing him and his son who worked on the property as well both caused leaks at separate times both doing a very considerable amount of damage with no regards to try and help the situation whatsoever. Again stay away from these guys.
Response from Ramberg Construction Rmdl LLC October 18, 2022Mr. Filipelli, owns a real estate company and a general contracting license. He originally hired Ramberg Construction (RC) to frame a basement. Job was done, payment was made...everyone was happy. Oct 2021- Filipelli asked if RC would build a dormer. After the completion of the dormer, Mr. Filipelli hired an additional company to complete the roof. At that point, rain in the NW was occurring and it became a problem. Mr. Filipelli made it very clear he would not be paying his bill for the construction of the dormer. At that time, RC did file a lien against his property for approximately $14k in unpaid debt. Mr. Filipelli continued to threaten via text that he would ruin us, and we'd never work in the state again. He called his friends and other contractors to attempt to black ball us, but it didn't work. They saw through his stories and lies. We were tired of it and did not have time to deal with him, so we were going to write off the bill, until his insurance company called us and asked us about miscellaneous claims he was making regarding his claim. We had pictures and documentation that negated everything he was claiming. At this point, Mr. Filipelli filed a lawsuit regarding a frivolous lien. The lawsuit was so frivolous that Mrs. Ramberg, with no law degree, was able to defeat Mr. Filipelli's team of attorneys. The lien was upheld by the superior court, and it was determined that RC was not at fault for any supposed damages. Mr. Filipelli never paid 1 cent towards the building of the dormer which was closer to $14K in total, not $6k. As far as rumor goes, he doesn't have the funds to pay any contractor and this is why he's being such a cry baby. RC highly suggested Mr. Filipelli wait on construction due to the weather but he insisted. At one point he even appeared at the jobsite and opened the tarps to work, which is when the damage began. The superior court ruled in May 2022 that damages were in fact Filipelli's fault. He failed to provide adequate plans, materials and/or funds for his project. Also, he's claimed several times in court that RC abandoned the jobsite, but here he clearly claims we were told not to return. I'm confused. While RC was fined for filing a lien without providing a disclosure statement, it was never improper or misleading. Superior Court upheld the lien Fact of the matter are Mr. Filipelli lied about plans, materials and funding. Additionally, he's presented no proof of damages other than his word.
