Chris Shaw, the contractor who builds the homes for The Lakes of Bay Colony as well as the Trails of Bay Colony , doesn't follow up on repair request made during final walk through, is dishonest, has a poor work ethic, and has pretty low standards. You should see how he repaired the door on our new home! He was quick to try and dismiss the issues we had, including a missed matched piece of granite in the kitchen. We have been trying to get them to get Yellowstone replace the counter tops to make them all match, and have now gone to the BBB, but doubt it will help. The roof leaks where the vent for the hot water heater is, and they now refuse to fix it. When we first moved in, the tub in the owners suite didn't drain, which was fixed. It still should have been tested by the contractor before hand. The dishwasher doesn't do a good job, will review them on the appliance site, but it is clearly a sub standard model. Two doors, including the back door would not stay latched. The crew that puts the pipes in before the foundation did ok on ours, but I noticed other homes with major screw ups that required them to jack hammer the concrete and move the pipes. Dodd, our sales person, was pretty hit or miss on getting back with me on questions we had. We had also made a few simple request, like having the shower open from the left, and they still installed it on the right, that sort of thing. The carpet and/or pad is cheap, and matting after only a year, despite vacuuming every week and cleaning every six months. They have recently been bough out by Rausch Coleman, which my guess is they are trying to hide behind that in order to avoid fixing their mess ups. I guess I can see why they disappeared, so be weary of them under the new name! It probably won't be long before it changes again.
