I had a nightmare experience with Raymond woods construction. Poor workmanship, took months to complete a project that should have only taken a couple of months. Mr woods did not communicate with me about the delays. I paid him on time and he even asked me to go to lowes to pay for a couple of large ticket items because another family wasn’t paying him on time for the work he’d completed for them.

We had a condo renovated kitchen and 2 bathrooms from top to bottom. Ray woods himself came out and looked around spouting off numbers for everything along the way. Sent over an estimate with numbers which looked good then the next week came by again and looked around and sent over another estimate, with higher numbers. We decided to go with him as he was in the same ballpark as the other two and he promised an 8 week turn around time. We finalized the contract after several phone calls, emails and text messages between he and his office staff, namely Jamie. I requested specific numbers for electrical and plumbing to which Jamie replied with via email. The project was started in March and the first payment was made. Fast forward to mid project and he’s requesting his second draw. The project was moving but not at the pace he promised. We paid the second draw and the project continued until last week when he asked for final payment even though the project wasn’t completed. I did not pay him as the contract stated 3 draws and he wasn’t finished. Here we are today and his office staff doesn’t have any idea what’s going on, 2 different people are calling, emailing and texting me and he wants an additional 4000 because his plumber and electrician went over. I’m just a lay person and I do my research so that tells me he didn’t have the plumber or electrician come by before the project started to give their estimates nor did he ask my permission to go over the total contract amount He says he was surprised as well by their bill. And yet he want to pass that on to me the customer. So here we are end of project his office is wanting payment.
Look around before you use this company otherwise your 8 week project will be 16 like mine was. Sorely disappointed!! -

Ray Woods came to my home the same day I requested for an estimate. He walked be through the whole process and left no table unturned. Himself and his staff were very friendly and made the process so much easier. I hired him to take down the walls between our master bedroom and guest room to make our master bedroom bigger. He was very patient with me and my husband since this is our first home we purchased and I must admit we probably drove them nuts with all of the questions and concerns we were asking them, but they were all so patient and explained everything to us to the tee. I would recommend using Ray Woods Construction to anybody that may need any room renovations. I'm sorry to hear that ^ the above person had a horrible experience with them but from our experience it was perfect!

Let's start by saying ray woods can look at you and spew some bs. He had His 1st crew rip walls out of my staircase and 1 month later it still looked like that why because he didn't purchase the material first before ripping out the walls. I hired him to paint my house ,replace my fence with vinyl fence, paint my kitchen cabinets, and redo my steps after giving him a hefty deposit (70% of the job) he was still short money on the supplies and asked me for more money for the fence? Where did my money go your guess is as good as mine! I am writing this as the work is going along and after one month walls ripped out no banisters or steps done it was left exposed and I have 3 children ,kitchen not finished, house paint not finished he lost his first crew on this job and lied to me about why and had to put together a second crew to come in. So far what should have been a happy thing for me to remodel has been a nightmare. I had to hold up other people doing work in my house because he can't pull it together.the workers begged me to pay more on the job because if I didn't ray wasn't going to make pay roll. Yet I did pay 70% down which is unheard of. After being asked by ray for more money for the purchase of the fence I chose to not have him do that. So far my steps are not up to standard for a professional company. Out of the goodness of his heart the man from the first crew who knew what he was doing come to my house to show the workers what they are doing wrong and how to fix it. My suggestion is do not hire this man!!! A job that should have taken around 3 weeks to be complete is at week 5 and not done yet. 6 weeks in and it's done I accepted it even after I can still point out many flaws because I'm done. I hit the point I stopped caring and came to terms this was not going to be a perfect job at all and just wanted everyone out of my house that I was stuck in every day for a long time. Wish I could post pictures with this review. Ray handed me back $50 for all my trouble in which I'm glad for that but $50 does not make up for the two tables covered in stain I have because I let them use them when they did not have anything to use and didn't think to cover them. Also left at least 12 screws on the floor pieces of wood chips all over the floor removed a piece of my baseboard that didn't need to be and that's gone. Like I said I really just wanted them out of my house.

We had a similar experience to Gloria above. Ray started a partial kitchen remodel. Schedule was quoted as 2.5 weeks. Schedule started going off almost immediately, then numerous delays occurred. Ray then tried building cabinet components rather than purchasing them. He also collected draws before work was completed, saying, I'll have to delay if I don't get that draw. We finally gave up and terminated his contract and are pursuing refund of the 3rd draw. Be very careful about doing any work with this guy.
