    Master bedroom: Fix subfloor and install prefinished hardwood; repair small section of exterior ceda
    $8,000

    I contracted with Ray in Sept 2021 and paid a 10% deposit ($800). He was to start mid-Oct but apparently needed surgery just before the scheduled start. We rescheduled to early Dec. Again, last minute, he apparently needed corrective, new surgery--causing another six-week delay to mid-Jan 2022. He offered to refund my deposit, but I decided to stick with him. When mid-Jan arrived, he told me that (1) he needed to stay home with his son, who was sick and home from school, and (2) he decided to close his business due to health problems. He promised to refund my $800 deposit. Two promised payment dates came and went. I suggested a payment plan of $200 per month for four months. He agreed and sent me $200 on Feb 7. He also promised to stay in touch. I followed up with him on Mon Mar 7, and he promised to send another $200 on Fri Mar 11. I sent a follow-up on Wed Mar 16, and another on Sun Mar 20. His status on Messenger now says "This person is unavailable on Messenger." So he's apparently ghosting me after having effectively stolen $600 from me.
