Rene partnered with me to rebuild a spa room for my home, starting with upgrading our electrical panel and renovating a shower space into a steam shower. My main goal was to find a contractor who knows how to work with high quality components / materials to deliver top notch work, as I'm VERY picky about the fit and finish. Rene and his team were professional and polite. They maintained a clean work space and worked quickly, yet carefully. I also appreciated that Rene is able to problem solve, provide different solutions to pick from, and make solid recommendations. I didn't have any of those "scratch my head" moments. I am very happy with the entire process, and most importantly, the end result. In particular, the tile and grout work was impressive--clean work, no sloppy spots or things that look off. I found Rene trustworthy (I left him and his team at my home without me there, a number of times, and they made sure to clean after themselves and lock all of my doors when leaving), and he delivered exactly what we agreed upon, and more. His price was competitive, and he was flexible whenever needed. I'm going to have Rene continue working on larger projects in the near future.

We got introduced to RB Master Builders Inc by a friend who had used them for a major remodel for his home and found the quality of the home very good. And Rene and his team did not disappoint us. They exceeded our expectations for our new remodeling project (approximately 3400 SQ foot home). The whole team has been very easy to work work, very detail oriented and timely. Before the start, Rene had given a timeline of 10 months and he delivered as per the plan without any delays.
Going with RB Master Builders Inc our home is one of the best decisions we made.

TLDR: For the love of god when it comes to contractors you get what you pay for these other reviews might seem fine and pictures look alright but I guarantee you those folks have no idea what is behind the drywall look at my images for context. This especially applies to you folks who don't have permits or plans which we had and he still managed to mess it all up, no way inspector would have passed. We had an architect and engineer city approved plans and he could not do it don't put your family in danger if you are doing non structural stuff use at your own risk because it took two years and we only got half our money back. Can't stress enough a licensed contractor means nothing we learned this the hard way. Best trick is get a contractor or subcontractors which have a license that is more than 10 years old his license (1074306) was issued on 03/26/2021 don't trust your home with a novice to save a few bucks wish I knew this stuff earlier you live and learn.
Update October 2023: After more than 2 years and almost 12 months of putting our project on hold because the Contractors State Licensing Board (CSLB) will not consider anything unless they see it themselves (you can't fix anything). Also explains why contractors get away with this stuff because very few people (such as myself) will put their projects on hold and to pursue the state licensing board. Ultimately they sent a special investigator who indicated that there was almost 50K in damage which is a few thousand more than we paid Rene. No surprise Rene did not want to pay but agreed to independent arbitration and ultimately arbitrator ruled that he owes us $40,127 even tried to appeal it see image of arbitration award. The CSLBs said they would suspend his license unless he paid us he made a deal to pay half up front and the rest monthly via payment plan but he stopped paying so I now have to take him to court to get the rest of the money.
Update February 2023: We luckily got our full amount from bond claim. The bond company was great but won't insure him again most likely. We still have to practically redo everything they completed so lost out on more than $30,000 for hiring Rene and RB Master Builders. We have filed a complaint with state contractors board and this investigation is taking extremely long but I want to make sure this guy can't do this to other good people (they don't help with getting money back)
Just a heads up all these other reviews are from friends and family and or paid!
Rene is your typical contractor that has no idea what he is doing. He is a tile contractor who is now trying to make it as a GC. Long story short I had to fire him after his original contract stated 3-4 months to do a whole house renovation 4 beds and 3 baths living room kitchen all windows with a California room back in May. Fast forward 6 months to today we paid him $46,000 dollars but he has not finished anything. Not a single inspection not framing not electrical nor plumbing. We were super reasonable and accommodating and believed every lie and excuse he came up with (believe us he had a million excuses). Per our contract we're supposed to only give him 20k for starting the framing and finishing the California room but he asked for money early said he would use it for materials(see text exchange picture) but instead took money and used it on other projects and stopped working on ours. The worst part is that we were okay with the time it took provided he would do the work correctly but he can't read plans so most of the things he performed was incorrect. We paid an engineer and architect to draft perfect city approved and permitted plans so there really was no excuse to get it wrong. Several times Rene would respond that you don't need that... it's strong enough... moral of the story is run while you can he does not know what is doing and won't pass inspection in a million year.
Icing on the cake is that when we fired him and told him to take his sign down and not come to our house again. He came and stole materials from our house which is theft. His response was we don't need it anymore again see the text exchange where he admits to taking our material that we paid for.
