I entered into a written contract with RC Construction LLC in April 2024 for a home addition and renovation project. Despite receiving approximately 90% of the total contract payment, the company failed to complete the agreed-upon work and has been unresponsive for several months.
Throughout the project, communication with the contractor was inconsistent and often required repeated follow-ups. Progress on site was minimal, with long gaps of inactivity and incomplete work left exposed to the elements. Several subcontractors reported non-payment issues, which further delayed the project.
As of mid-2025, the contractor ceased all communication and abandoned the job site. Shortly thereafter, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The project remains unfinished, requiring substantial corrective work at my own expense.
This experience highlights serious concerns about reliability, project management, and financial responsibility. Homeowners considering this company should exercise extreme caution, ensure all payments are tied strictly to verified milestones, and confirm the company’s current licensing and financial standing before signing any agreement.
