Seemed like an experienced carpenter and had a great bid. Did a total gut, remodel, addition of a two story house. Kept wanting to cut corners, not listen to what we wanted, and tell the sub contractors wrong information so their work had to be redone. Did not communicate well with subcontractors and had horrible coordination of work with them. Even with checking progress daily this was a nightmare contractor. In the end 2 out of 12 doors had to be cut down because doorways were too short, kitchen was not square so U shape countertops were a huge challenge, he refused to replace one section of old floor joists (under kitchen) so cabinets had to be shimmed over 2" in the front, drywalled over outlets and switches and denied it until we called electrician, up to 1/2" gap in drywall were it met the floors, not enough screws in drywall which left weak walls which caused a hole when a roll of flooring bumped it, did not brace an 8' wide bay window when we requested it and had to call someone else to do it 2 months later after window visibly sagged, did not reattach porch or replace porch steps when he said he would and claimed it wasn't in the bid, either he or his workers stole money roses from the premises that were sentimental and over $50. I could go on. The interior of this house was new construction and nothing was plum or square where it should have been. I don't know how he is still in business.
