Over the past 2 holiday seasons it has been this way.
It leaked the day after installation. At over 530 screws into a large workroom/storage room. Mold is growing in it. It sits stagnant & unfinished
We did RD Herbert a favor - we had the previous roof removed. But RDH did not show up and did not call on the date of installation. Materials had not been ordered. For 2 weeks it was a nightmare trying to keep a very large, roofless room dry, through rains, and having electrical problems.
The manager, Righter, threw flimsy plastic sheeting on it & screwed it in. His guys said that a branch falling would easily break it. Reviewers condemn this construction as deficient and inferior, unable to withstand rain, hail, or a falling branch.
Righter used threatening tones to get us to accept the faulty construction. Said he'd fix it with glue and caulk. A roof, for God's sake! Otherwise, he said for us to supply new roofing material. Does your plumber tell you to diagnose the problem and to supply the proper materials?
Eight (8) months later the president of the company, Sutton, said he would replace the roof. For the soggy, wet, moldy room. He said he would provide a satisfactory solution. He assured us of this very many times. Then, did almost nothing.
As we approached another holiday season, 5 months later, we were still unable to use our living room for Christmas, nor the work room, plus another interior room, and the back porch, due to the storage of contents of the unfinished work room and the failed roof, waiting for replacement. For 13 months during the day and at 3 o'clock in the morning when raining, we have had to document, monitor & protect the room from leakage. 13 months of stringing us along has delayed much-needed house repairs. Caused a load of inconveniences. Mental anguish and distress from this going on for so long. In short, a nightmare created by this company.
After 5 months with no plan from Sutton for a watertight roof replacement, and Christmas coming, we demanded an immediate plan, and detailed multiple failures, not included here, on the part of this company. We made it clear that in place of the wholly defective and unacceptable roof, we wanted a professional, appropriate roofing application.
Sutton responded that since we are not satisfied, he is dumping our project on us.
There has been more than ample opportunity to make this right - with not one, not one, viable solution coming from RDH.
Who in the world would find a complete lack of progress satisfiable in any way?
We thought that RD Herbert was good for its word, "Roofing solutions that stand the test of time."
What happened to them? Someone said it's because the Herberts are gone?
That they wouldn't allow this to happen. Corporate fluff?

Someone please - it needs a large, flat, single pitch, translucent, lightweight, strong roof
