Re-work of Indianapolis Construction

I am a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and I believe in opportunity rather than charity. I live and do business in Indianapolis, Indiana and operate independently from my tribe.

I currently have a Remodeling Company "Re-Work of Indianapolis LLC," which I started in April 2013. Re-Work caters to realtors, property managers, and residential home owners who prefer a "one call" solution.

From BuildZoom: Re-work of Indianapolis LLC, 4915 E 79th St, Indianapolis, IN (Owned by: Jason Schwedler) holds a General Contractor license and 18 other licenses according to the Indiana license board.

Their BuildZoom score of 68 does not rank in the top 50% of Indiana contractors.

Their license was verified as active when we last checked. If you are thinking of hiring Re-work of Indianapolis LLC, we recommend double-checking their license status with the license board and using our project planner to get competitive quotes.

Jason Schwedler prior owner of Re-Works of Indianapolis and current owner of Sioux Interiors based in Indianapolis, IN ruined my life, I'll never erase the day I first met him in my kitchen and he truly is a snake a schwedler. I was introduced to Jason in 2014 by Amy McIntyre (Jason's fiancé) of Indy Homes, we bought the house in 2011 from Indy Homes. She first referred Jason to me during the initial home visit because it was clear in the future the house would need upgrades and she recommended Re-Works of Indy due to its history working closely with Indy Homes whenever properties needed remodeling done. Out of trust I believed I had established with Ms. McIntyre I foolishly took her word and asked her to bring him by and make the introduction once we had decided to remodel our house.

I am a U.S. Army 911 Veteran. I had saved my money from my various deployments during active service. I started contracting in 2003 in some very terrible locations in the Middle East. The idea that doing an honest job and years of sacrificing anniversaries, holidays, school plays and free to just do anything if I wasn't on a contract all to save up to buy a house, all gone because I listened to Amy McIntyre. Where I grew up it'd seemed impossible to think "if I work hard and save up I'll have enough money to get out of those neighborhoods" buy a nice house in a good/ safe area in Indianapolis. Where I grew up those dreams weren't possible unless you sold drugs on the streets to get out. I joined the Army and used my trade to get that close to my dream before Jason turned it into a nightmare.

Jason knew I would be out of the country because of the tax laws which I wasn't allowed to be inside the U.S. no more than 32 days in a calendar year. He played me against my owe decency when believing because he had a legitimate company, we signed contracts and my trust in Amy he knew he had a sucker and he had no obligation to do right by me, my absence left him feeling safe. My initial plan was to pay another company to project manage the remodeling because I was looking to spend at least 60k but he convinced me to hire him to do both, contractor and PM.

I returned to Indy in 2015 to find little work had been done on the house and the project needed more funding and additional 20k. I paid it because I had already invested so much into it and if it was done right, it would had been worth it. I would have had my family's dream house. In the end it was all for nothing. Whenever I would call Jason outside the U.S. on our scheduled calls it I was always get fed more excuses and more money was needed to complete the project (audio and email to validate this). When it was finally registering to me that I had been played I had someone I trusted to go check in on the house and I received the call I'll never be able to delete from my memory sounds of panic, cries and frustration regarding the physical condition of our house. Jason's team had trashed the property. The material that had been installed was coming up or cheaply done to where things were falling apart. The house was unlivable because of the physical state of it. I was force to sell it at a big lost, I lost everything and almost lost my family because of the toll this experience put on us and ultimately my bad decisions to get in bed with Jason and Amy. But in the end Jason and Amy completed their dream house and it's beautiful.

I immediately hired a lawyer and sued Jason Schwedler and Re-Works of Indy and won my case after years of court dates and attorney fees. I have yet to collect anything from Jason because he's a crook till the end.

My experience with Jason began great. He is a likable person. However, he took our large down payment for our project, applied it to another project that he was behind on then skipped town. We went after his bond but this is apparently common for him and it was already gone. BEWARE!

    total reovation
    $85,000

Like the above reviews we were severely duped by the owner Jason and the project manager/assistant Austin. Paid for things that were not done sent just enough to take a picture of. Kept making excuses. even the work they actually did do was a horrible mess. I mean horrible! Painted over old chipped paint. Panted over rotting wood that was falling off. installed sub par floors. bought never installed new water tank never finished garage the wrong cabinet for the kitchen. you should see the video i have was going to paint over old interiors doors that i had paid to replace. the list goes on. You should see the video I have. It would shock you after 6 to 9 months what they did not do and what they messed up

    Fix my basement
    $8,000

Where do I start.? This company is by far the worst and dishonest “contractor” I’ve ever delt with in my life. They completely destroyed my home, my whole house floor was covered in drywall mud, paint everywhere, floors ruined. Broke my hot water heater. I mean the list goes on and on. If you want to be lied to, stolen from and your house worse off than what it was from the beginning call these guys. They have no clue what they are doing. If you want someone who is an expert in insurance fraud call these crooks they will get the job done wrong! They promise the world, take your money and run. I advise. NEVER use this company. They are god awful.!

    Verified Hire
    Bathroom Remodel project

The job was awful. The sub contractors cut a lot of corners and the quality of the work was low. Decisions were made before consulting us and then we were told it couldn't be changed. Things that were wrong: Door cut too large, door frame 1.5 inches too tall, dry wall mistakes, walls were not smoothed after work, wall paint on ceiling, door stained poorly, door latch incorrect position, etc. The Re-Work office was very apologetic and stated they'd get it fixed. Several other subcontractors came out to bid on the fix. But cost was so high because so much was wrong. The owner said he'd do the work himself. He is a really nice guy and genuinely wanted to make it right. However, he was unwilling to actually do what was necessary to fix it - demo the original work and start over. He tried to do a bunch of bandaid solutions. We ultimately just asked them to stop working. We paid the full contract price but we have to hire other people to fix the remaining issues.
