I hired Reality Contracting to install my custom walnut cabinets, $15,000. Tear out and lay vinyl composite flooring throughout the home, install 7 solid wood doors with jams, trim out 10 windows with sills, caulking around all newly installed trim and nail holes.
The cabinets were installed incorrectly. The blueprints clearly stated flush mount. Brandon cut the panels to make indented ones. A local business, where I ordered my cabinets, Millworks, had to come to my home to show him how to install the cabinets correctly. At first he didnt even line up the cabinets horizontally, because he didnt put the toe kicks in or my crown moulding, when the pantry cabinets were sticking out and not lining up, he pushed on them to try and straighten them out. He ended up taking the achors out and redoing them. Later he told me he had never done a flush mount install. Custom cabinets were reordered and 11 weeks later the cabinet install was completed. We had no running water in our kitchen for 4 weeks.
I informed this contractor at our very first meeting that my sub floor squeaked from water damage done 5 years before. He witnessed this when he stepped on it and heared it. I told him the sub floor might need replaced. He covered the sub floor up with my new composite vinyl flooring and the floor squeaks. Its not alittle sound, he really creaks. He disregarded my instructions. I took a picture of him laying the new flooring and you can clearly see the subfloor peeling up. I trusted him, my mistake. My new flooring has gaps where the planks meet. So upsetting.
This company assured me he knew how to install doors with the jams. I ordered custom shaker style doors at $194. each. The doors were cut at the top and bottom to fit.... instead of adjusting the jams. He cut so much off on one of the doors that it was unuseable and a new one was reordered. The gaps are so large meeting floor to floor that I .... thats right I... had to install half inch transistion strips so the noise from the bathroom and laundry room wasnt heared outside of it. I had Brandon take off one of the doors and adjust the door jams because it was 2 inchs off the ground, he couldnt fix the other doors because he had cut too much off of them. Then he didnt even sand the door tops and bottoms where he cut, kinda jagged.
I had him put up trim around each door and windows. Mistakes were made and it looked horrible around my kitchen bay windows. He fixed it at my insistance, but by taking the trim off the new paint was ruined.
The nail holes on ALL of the trim boards are so deep. I was told by a contractor thats been hired by me that the pressure on the nail gun was set too high.
I paid for caulking to be done. Some was done.
BUT all that was done has turned to yellow. I dont know what cheap product was used. The nail holes are too big to do a normal job, Ive had to use putty, sand and paint.
This company has ruined my life savings remodel. Im in my twilight years. I still have to fix Reality Contractings mistakes.
No excuses can change the facts.

Was able to get a quote quickly and appreciated that the owner answers the phone! Had a floating floor installed. The work was done with care and attention to detail, everything neat and tidy at the end of the job. All employees were really nice to work with. Will call them again.
