    PROTECT YOURSELF by adding to your contract that RRR cannot 1)unilaterally switch product without your written agreement 2)threaten or place a lien until there is lack of payment after the contracted for roofing material has been installed;3)RRR will reply in writing to all data requests from you or your insurer within 5 days or provide written reason for delay within 5 days.4)Create a written record as soon as anything feels odd.5)Contact the Attorney Generals office and your Chamber of Commerce in writing immediately if problems arise&provide your documented proof.6) Post here.

    My insurance company has encouraged me to post because it seems that a deceptive business practice has occurred with the roofing product that has recently been installed by RRR. RRR unilaterally switched the contracted for shingles with no warning or ability to have researched a different product. RRR had never said or sent anything in writing about the possibility of any other materials. The only reason that I know that a switch occurred is because I had asked for the leftover shingle packages, that I could see in the front yard when RRR was done working on the roof, to be moved to the back porch. I subsequently realized that my roof now has a mix of Owens Corning and Atlas Pinnacle Impact shingles versus the Owens Corning Duration Storm (OC DS) complete roofing system shown in my RRR contract.

    During the first conversation between my insurer and RRR, RRR 1) refused to follow the contract by installing the OC DS and 2) threatened a lien on my property concerning RRR’s supplemental billing: a billing I had never seen and didn’t see until typing such into a follow up email to RRR.

    After weeks of my insurer and I waiting for RRR to prove equivalency between the contracted for OC DS roofing system versus the mix upon the roof currently, I saw these words in an email from RRR, “…The options would have been to wait an extended period of time or make the change…”. WHY WEREN'T WE GIVEN AN OPTION?
