By Avis E.June 16, 2022Level living room floor in specific area$540
Please beware of the skill level of Brian and Reed Built. We hired through Home Depot Pro. Needed living room floor leveled in small area to have new flooring installed. Area that needed work was 3/4 off and Home Depot Flooring installer stated area needed leveled before floor could be installed. Reed Built told my sister he could fix it no problem.
HUGE PROBLEM, and he did not fix floor. HD flooring came out the next day to install floor and it was now high in middle. He shared with Reed Built what needed to be done. Again he attempted to level the floor and again not knowing what he was doing and botched it up worse. Charged $540. for deplorable work. We were told we needed to request a refund if $250. And he responded it was good enough and the installer from HD did not know what he was doing.
Today hired another individual and on top of what I paid Reed Built spent another $750 to fix a botched up job. We were told he definitely did not know what he was doing”. Reed Built took advantage of retired individual on limited income. Have pictures if poor workmanship . Plan to take to small claims court. HOMEOWNERS BEWARE….Response from Reed Built LLC January 24, 2024Avis, this is disappointing. I worked my butt off for you and your partner. I worked at your home until 8:00 pm one night and 9:00 PM the other trying to keep you on schedule for your flooring install. I have a wealth of construction knowledge and take pride in my work. Your floors were extremely heaved, about 2 inches if I remember correctly, I got them within a 1/4 inch of flat. The flooring contractor after me wanted them perfectly flat which was not achievable. I had $300 dollars in material for your job and 8 plus hours. No one was taken advantage of you and your flooring contractor was being EXTREMELY particular. It was the two of you who decided to hire another contractor and I cannot be responsible for their fee. It's a shame a review can be on the internet without the full story. I have not been taken to small claims court as she doesn't have a case. By choice I no longer do decks, bathrooms and kitchen through Home Depot, due to their clientele.
