    Building of a new house
    $330,000

    Reed Homes seems to be out of business.
    I signed contract in April 2021 and came to close on September 2023. He increased the price of on the contract by $60K and still didn’t deliver quality. The main bathroom is unfinished of grout, the patio sliding doors leak water through, quarter round is missing in the closets and bathrooms, standard features like attic’s stair was deleted without notice. Paid upgrade for microwave vent out was not built and credit was denied. The driveway has more cracks than a plumbers convention.
    Endless list of neglected build.
    They still have houses unsold at Oaks at Ocala Crossings - Save the trouble and be happy at a house were builders work and behave in an expected manner.

    I Contracted reed homes of central florida to build their model on my owned lot, they began slowly got the foundation and framing erected, set the trusses and disappeared and have not been seen or heard from since. started project in 2021 and it is still incomplete as of 4/25/23.

    Build a new home

    I signed my new home construction with Reed Homes for a lot in The Oaks at Ocala Crossings back in June 2021, now almost 8 months later, they literally are trying to charge me an additional 40K for an increase in the premium the developer is charging them for the lot and so they want to pass the bill onto me even though nowhere in the contract does it allow for such a charge. Funny thing is the Reed Rep. Allison Hoyt specifically stated they would not try to forward such increases in material and such onto the buyer and LOOK, she lied. AVOID THIS BUILDER AT ALL COSTS. Was told by a friend to stay away from the National Builders but at least the wouldn't try and pull a bait and switch like Reed is basically doing.

    Build a house

    The builder is extremely rude and lacks the ability to have basic communication skills. Additionally, he will NOT honor the one year builder contract and states he will determine what gets fixed, and how and IF he wants to fix it. My home is less than a year old and he has only addressed a few issues from the lunch list at closing. Most recently my roof began to leak and I am still waiting for a call back. Do NOT do business with this man. He will take your money and run.

    I would never recommend Reed Homes. We have along with our neighbors many problems with our home. John Reed refuses to fix some of the problems. He is the most unfriendly builder and has the worst business client ethic for they DONT exist! All questions answered by the company in their estimation are phrases like: thats normal, thats settlement issues and we dont carry that product any more and we reserve the right to change without letting the client know.
    Hidden fees in the contract are NEVER disclosed. Shall I continue what a poor builder John Reed is? Lastly, we never even got a thank you for your business in an age when business should be earned and not taken for granted. Although the home is not a disaster, it could have been better if they had paid attention to details but it was not.
