Last year after using them to remodel 2 bathrooms, a neighbor below complained about a leak. I called them and they showed up a few hours later, it turned out that the leak was from a place non-related to their work. I asked them to fix the issue and to my dismay they refused saying that they were too busy at another job, I didn’t like this since this could have been fixed in a couple of hours but I understand this was their choice…
Just a month ago I called them again because I had another bathroom to remodel, they showed up on the planned day and started to work, in a few days the work was completed and I paid them without going back to the apartment to inspect. The following week I got a call from the tenant saying that lots of cement residue was inside the toilet, which she needed to put a glove on to take it out, and the ceiling extractor (fan & light) was hanging and disconnected. To make things worst that apartment was going to be inspected by a Section 8 inspector…
To make a long story short, I call Jesus Zamora and told him about what I just learned, he got all mad and gave me a long dissertation on how easy it’s to connect the extractor, and also told me that they didn’t put anything inside the toilet… We even had an appointment to do another work and he was so offended that he canceled the pending job.
I’m shocked (even though I shouldn’t be) by the way people come from Cuba thinking and acting like they are still there, without any minimum customer service skills, neither the decency to recognize when they do something wrong and just fix it or say “I’m sorry”. After all, anyone can overlook something, we cleaned up the leftover dirt and mess, and I didn’t call him to do it. I just gave him some constructive feedback, to prevent it from happening in the future… Because of my previous review and personal referrals he got a lot of business. He should have at least been humble enough to admit fault and move on.
