False advertising/left me in limbo for 6+ weeks, then reneged
Early August 2021: discovered A/C was leaking from the attic into an upstairs bedroom. We had the A/C unit replaced, then started calling mitigation experts to come out and assess damage.
August 13, 2021: After having 3 other mitigation companies come out to see the damage to my home, Mitigation Lead Technician Antony Ramirez sold me on going with Regent Restoration. They would do everything: remove anything damaged (drywall/carpet padding) and use industrial fans and humidifiers to mitigate any lingering moisture from the leak. Regent would then set me up with one of their general contractors to put my house back together.
Mitigation was concluded a few days later and an appointment was set for September 8 for a Project Estimator to come out to look at the job. Understandably, the big freeze back in February was the cause of the extended wait.
September 8, 2021: Project Estimator Mike Archuleta was in and out of my house in about an hour, and sent me (and my insurance) a detailed bid later that afternoon. Mike was patient in answering all of my questions and told me that once my insurance greenlit the job, work would begin in another few weeks and would take around 3 days. My insurance did indeed greenlight the job within 24 hours, so the ball was back in Mike’s court to get me on their schedule.
September 21, 2021: Mike Archuleta sends an email withdrawing Regent’s bid due to the job not exceeding $10,000. I understand that Regent is in the business of making money, but find it unacceptable to have been left in limbo for 6+ weeks once mitigation was complete only to learn of a new, seemingly arbitrary “minimum job cost” that was never mentioned in any of my earlier conversations with anyone from Regent.
I would have gone with another mitigation company had I known Regent would treat me this way. Now I can only share my dissatisfaction with others in the hopes this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

My home was damaged by an unexpected rain storm that hit while I was getting a new roof and decking installed. This caused serious damage including several sections of the ceiling to collapse. Regent Restoration was hired by the roofer to do handle the repairs. Initially Ramone was sent to evaluate the damage and he did a very thorough inspection. After he explained what needed to be done I was extremely confident in Regent and comfortable that they were definitely the company I wanted doing the repairs. I was so sold that when the roofer wanted to bring in others to get more quotes I insisted that Regent be hired for the work. Unfortunately once they were hired Ramone was replaced by Anthony. From this point forward everything was down hill. They started by replacing the areas of the ceiling where obvious water damage had occurred. Unfortunately they did a pretty poor job on the taping before texturing leaving seams very visible. Anthony tried to convince me that this was because my house had settled and nothing could be done to fix it. When I refused to accept this he started sending people to sand down the seams flush with the texture then re texturing which just kept building everything back up and turning the ceilings into more and more of a topographical map every time. They wasted weeks on this. Finally after several meetings and arguments they eventually relented and addressed the whole ceiling as a whole unit like they should have from the start and somehow magically this impossible to correct problem was fixed in two days. If they'd just done it right the first time instead of trying to take shortcuts everything would have been much easier. As far as mold inspection and remediation goes they tried to straight skip it only sending someone after a meeting where both the roofer and myself demanded it be done. Now on to problem three insulation. I asked Anthony if the insulation had been taken care of and he straight up lied to my face. When I got into the attic I found bare sheetrock over the repaired sections and the old insulation that had gotten wet but not enough to cause collapse still there everywhere else. When I called him out on this Anthony made some excuses blaming the crew. The next time they finished the insulation it turned out they'd just sprayed new stuff in and continued left the damaged stuff in place. This also means that despite them assuring me mold measures had been taken and everything was fine they literally could not have even checked. When I brought this up Anthony started by claiming that had never been wet so it was fine. After I brought up the pictures that he'd been aware of since day one he sent a crew to correct it. When said crew arrived they had no idea what the problem was or what needed done meaning they didn't have a vacuum to remove it. While they were out trying to find one Anthony texted me claiming they'd had one reserved, but it had mistakenly been given to someone else. I have serious doubts this unit was ever reserved. So we finally get the old insulation out and the area checked for mold. New insulation is blown in and I'm told everything is finally done. When I get up in the attic and check there is only between 4"- 6" of insulation there and the crew told me that was all I needed. I ended up pulling up the IRC standards and government energystar website to prove that's not true before they finally put enough insulation in the attic to be finished. The last problem which in most cases would be the worst part of the experience but somehow became a minor inconvenience compared to everything else? While doing the repairs at some point someone stole some rings and a VR system from my house. I made a Police report and they're dealing with that, but at no point did Anthony or anyone from Regent even offer to make it right. Seriously if you need restoration work you should probably find someone else.
