On April 15, 2025, I entered into an agreement with ***** *********, owner of Reliable Pools, to resurface and retile my in-ground pool in *******, **. ***** provided a quote and began requesting incremental payments to cover materials, hotel lodging, and other project costs. In total, I paid him $8,100 by credit card in good faith.Despite repeatedly promising to begin the job often saying he was on the way, waiting on materials, or starting this week he consistently missed deadlines and made excuses. He frequently blamed his material supplier for delays. To help move things along, I offered multiple times to buy all new materials directly from a store myself and even asked him for a full materials list but he never gave one. Instead, he continued to ask for more money to secure supplies without ever delivering them. The only work done on my pool was partial demolition of the coping and minimal tile prep the actual tile installation was never completed, and the pool resurfacing was never started. I gave ***** several clear deadlines and warned him that failure to perform would lead to termination and formal complaints. After discovering that another customer had nearly the same experience, and hearing from other pool companies in the area who were already aware of ****** poor reputation and tactics, it became clear that this wasnt just a one-time issue its part of a pattern.I have now hired a licensed, bonded, and insured contractor to finish the work properly. However, because the new contractor does not accept credit cards, I am pursuing a full refund from ***** ********* to avoid paying twice for the same job.
