By Julie D.June 6, 2021kitche/bath remodel, garage door, screens, appliance install, tile work, etcRead more
I hired this contractor thru home advisor, he was hired january 2021, and finally completed the job April 2021. This was a home remodel, new front and back porch, kitchen remodel, bathroom remodel, bedroom closet drywall, garage door replaced, 17 screens replaced, ceiling fans installed, tile work in kitchen and bathroom, new flooring installed kitchen and bathroom, microwave install, stove, refrigerator, garbage disposal, and two new doors installed. What a terrible experience, installed new flooring which I ordered sq. footage he quoted, he broke one piece in the kitchen by the time he got to the bathroom to install the same waterproof flooring, he was one piece short, the one piece he broke, so I had to buy another case. Installed dishwasher and just left the kickplate ontop of the kitchen counter instead of finishing one job before going on to the next, then did the back splash tile above kitchen counter, then went to install garbage disposal, and after the fact asked me what this one switch was for above counter, I replied to the light above the sink, why Jeff ? He replied I thought it was to the old garbage disposal, I then told him that he ripped out the old countertop and gutted, there was no garbage disposal there, he then replied he would have to put the switch to the garbage disposal under the counter within the cabinet, because he had already done the backsplash tile., so when I want to turn on the garbage disposal I have to reach inside the lower kitchen cabinet to turn it on and off. installed big refrigerator, first time I have ever had a refrigerator that did not have wheels on it so it could be pulled out and cleaned behind, yep no wheels, can't budge this thing to get behind it to clean, also put the refrigerator together, doors, handles etc, which all has plastic film over it, put the doors and handles on and told me he left the film for me to take off, well since the handles have already been put on, it is hard to get all the film off it is stuck around the handles, and hard to get fingers on to pull it out, installed door in kitchen, great. Went to tear out bathtub to install new tub, and put surround up, instead of telling me there was going to be a problem with the surround I bought because it had a lip on the edge of it, I could have taken it back and gotten something else, he proceeded to install it anyway, plastering around the lip that stuck off from the wall, I seen this and said Jeff this is not going to work, what a mess ! He then replied he could cut into the wall so that the lip went into the wall and then plaster it, no, what Jeff is going to work best, he said tile, so I went out and purchase 806.00 in tile, I am already out the surround because he cut it I could no longer take it back, I lost 653.00 there. Put the new tile up, looked fine standing and looking at it, but as you sit in the tub, which only has a ledge on the outside of tub because the other ledge disappeared into the wall and tiling, I could seen where the tile was not leveled, it bumped out in certain areas on the wall, and overlap and crooked where it met the tub, installed new vanity was told I could go with 36 in. that is what I did, so the vanity went up against part of my vent blocking any heat or air, heat will probably cause the new vanity to turn brown, installed new mirror/medicine cabinet, and two sconces, the mirror/medicine cabinet and sconces can not be centered with the 36 in vanity, if I knew that I would have gone with a smaller vanity, his line of work not mine that is why I hired him. One of the sconces was missing a nut on it, I asked him where the nut was, his response it must not have been there or I would have put it on, really, how about telling me it is missing a nut so I can take it back and replace it with another one, the mirror has a small hairline cut in the upper part of mirror. Now lets move on to the toliet, new toliet installed, cut the hole too big in the floor behind toliet where the ring goes around pipe to hide the hole cut, ring doesn't hide because the hole was cut too big, the bolts that are at each side of the toliet, and the plastic cap that screws on top of the bolt, he never cut the bolts down to size so the cap sits on top of the bolts and cap does not screw down flush against the toliet, new bathroom door installed, damaged, scratches in the coating over the wood door, put new handle/knobs on the door, the finish is cracked, and sticks off just waiting for something to snag on so it can be pulled back further, must have already been damaged, he says, well can't take that back because now you have cut it down to size, really ?, Tells me he could plaster the bathroom closet a lot cheaper instead of drywall, or repair the plaster, I said okay, what a joke, did not do a good job at all, he replies I will dry wall it, he drywalls it, put joint compound on seams, waiting compound to dry, I told him I would finish, but he never put the trim around the floor back

I had a my whole home re-floored, painted and a kitchen remodel done. Jeff was fair, communicative and prompt. His work is outstanding. I have recommended him to so many others!
