    As a current homeowner of a Remington home in Downtown Superior, I would never trust them to build another one for us and, could never, in good conscious, recommend them to anyone. We have built a dozen homes and have never experienced the amount of problems and lack of communication from any other builder. Our neighborhood WhatsApp group is filled with complaints.

    Build a home

    Unfortunately it has come to this, but being we had such a negative experience with Remington Homes, who state they are a "Trusted Colorado Builder for 50 year" holds not true anymore. The amount of grief they have put us through since we have signed the contract to when we were forced to end the contract. From not communicating with us, not being truthful in the “unopened” concept design in the kitchen, to wrong quotes from the design center because they had the wrong phase 2 plans, not seeing our house plans for 4 months, to not keeping true on your word when we specifically asked worst case scenarios of one of us losing our jobs/income OR the economy collapses. We signed under false pretenses.

    Let’s start from the beginning.

    June 16, 2019: Met with Remington homes to inquire about a new single family build in Downtown Superior.

    Before we signed the contract, we met with Remington Homes TWICE to discuss some reservations. We specifically asked, on TWO separate occasions, what would happen if one of use lost our job/income and if the economy crashes. We were told twice, “Remington are not monsters, we are willing to work with you if either of these scenarios do happen. We have returned deposits before.”

    Remington homes is not a company worth doing business with. They do not stand by the work they do. Our homes was built in 2017 and the HVAC has never worked for the master bedroom. We tried working with them and the company they hired to install the system, but they could not resolve the issue. The problem was that either the design or the construction of the home had a flaw, and the vents to the master bedroom could not be run the correct way (per the design). They had two options, one was do a drop soffit to run the lined the same route but not in the ceiling of the dining room (so the vents would be in the master bedroom floor) or run it all the way from the basement to the attic, then over to the master bedroom and have the vents in the ceiling. The choose to have the vents in the ceiling, but the air is not strong enough to make it to the master bedroom as there is one unit for 3500 sq ft.

    When we were purchasing this home we asked for a bigger AC unit or to have two units and were refused because the house is engineered to be well insulated and everything is based on the number of windows and direction of windows. We were assured that the AC unit was sufficient. Now, they want to put a drop soffit in our dining room that would run between the canned lights in the dining area. It would drop down 12 inches and be about 24 inches wide and run the length of the dining room. We said that this was unacceptable as it would reduce our home value and would not look good.

    The same model was build a few houses down the street, and that house has the vents in the master bedroom on the floor and no drop soffit. We know they fixed whatever the issue was with future builds, which is another reason why we are not happy with their solution. We suggested that they add a second system that is dedicated fo the upstairs as it would not need to compete with all the other vents. They said that would probably solve the problem, but they would not pay for it.

    They are not an honorable company and don't do the right thing when they make a mistake. If you choose to buy a home from them, I hope nothing goes wrong.

    Worst home builder I could do business with trashed my driveway before I moved in, assured me they would take care of it to my satisfaction and did not 700000.00 home with oil stains paint stains on all the concrete surfaces looks terrible. buyer beware they talk a good game.
