    RFN Consulting is a company I should have sued, but living out of state, it was complicated, so out of a sense of truth, i need to report this company.
    Robert Novak became my GC for two properties in Chicago in 2017. He did not oversee the workers he hired with my money on both of the properties. On the first property, he sent a crew out to put on new hardiboard siding on a very large house (expensive job) and the crew had no idea what they were doing i found out too late. Robert had paid them with my money without checking their work - Then that crew disappeared. I had an inspector out who said the hardiboard was put on completely incorrectly and would all have to be taken off and redone --- The cost was enormous altogether --- plus there were several other major issues - in short, Robert's untrained crews put me out of pocket by @70k - not to mention the lost time. At the second property he was GC for, a much smaller property, he did the same thing.... he paid a crew he had never work with before with my money without actually coming to the property to check their work --- some plumbing, electrical, drywall, etc. That crew disappeared too. Robert was responsible in both of these cases and with both properties for the untrained and unreliable crews which he spent my money on. Any professional GC would be responsible for this - but Robert became defensive and would not take responsibility.I lost a lot of money because of RFN Consulting and may still take them to court for the 80k+ he owes me. He comes off very charming at first - but be careful -- make sure he signs a contract where even if his crew makes big mistakes or any mistakes that he takes responsibility.. fyi, I am not the only one --- i met another person who became very disillusioned with Robert as well - I should have written this at the time -- but better late than never..
