Rich Melchior has 32 years of Residential Remodeling, Custom Home Design, Kitchen & Bath Design, construction, project management & estimating experience. Rich is a Certified Professional Building Designer with NCBDC. He is the founder of Rich Design Group, llc and our partner company AGAPÉ Construction Services, llc.
Gloria Melchior has 15 years of production coordinator, project management, purchasing, and scheduling experience and 10 years as an Interior Material Selection & Design Specialist. Gloria is a Graduate of the Design Professional Academy.
Rich Design Group is a Complete “Design to Build” Firm, and we will do whatever it takes to insure your project is completed to your satisfaction.

Permits
- Building permit records show that Rich Design Group LLC has worked on 21 permitted projects.
Hired Richard to design a 2nd story to my single story house. Had a pretty horrible experience for the following reasons:
- Payments broken down into 4 sections (initial design; "Selection Process", permitting and Competition of design). Payment for each section is required upfront before any work is completed which is unusual but not unheard of.
- 90% of the design costs can only be done through their company and is pretty much useless if you are unhappy with their work and want to bring it somewhere else. So despite what they say, you pretty much have to pay the whole fee before you have anything useable.
- To use Richard as your architect you have to pay his wife to be your interior designer. This will be about 40% of the cost of the Fee.
- We had agreed upon delivery of the initial phase after 90 days. I contacted them a week before the due date and they had not done any work. Took them an additional 60 days to complete initial phase (150 days).
- After having met in person multiple times, Richard would often forget most details discussed, even in the same day. This caused the need for multiple back and forth email that were easily preventable.
- Richard and his wife, were late by 30m to 3.5h to every meeting we had. Your time means nothing to them.
- When ending this relationship because I was unhappy with the work done by Richard I asked for CAD file to move to another Architect and was immediately ghosted.
