We needed a ceiling installed in our family room. Signed a contract with him. Told us he treats our home like his. Offered to have our electrician install ceiling lights, he said he can do it.
1. Never put anything down on the newly installed carpet and started a week later saying we will be compensated and we never were.
2. Never cleaned up daily so I would every evening when he left fining nails, wire and screws in the carpet.
3. Never covered their shoes with booties and tracked in dirt.
4. Never cleaned the mess up on our paver patio floor. I did.
5. Would mention about sloppy, uneven parts of the ceiling and he replied it will be perfect when done.
6. Spent 3 days trying to install the lights and when the dimmer was all the way down one light flickered. I was told when I questioned this that all I needed to do was back it up until it stopped. A few weeks later we had our electrician in for other work and asked him to check it. Turned out to be a bad driver so he went out and bought a new one. Richard did pay for this bill, but accused us of not giving him a chance to fix it? Twice I questioned the safety of the flickering. So another trait showed through of not being truthful.
7. When he left we had him return to see the mess he left us with. We contacted a five star drywall company to come fix his mistakes. We were told it needed removed and started over due to everything not being straight and level. When I questioned this to Richard I was told it will be perfect when he us done. I was accused of screaming at him, never did I scream at him. A few times I raised my voice when he got defensive about my questioning his sloppiness. He was offered drinks and snacks when he was here.
He returned our money, but now it is going to cost us money to remove the mess he created in our home. He never really cleaned up after he left. I spent over an hour removing his mess.
Wish I could post pictures, because he himself said he did not realize how bad it was.
Is he even qualified to do electric?
According to his drywall skills he certainly is not qualified for drywalls.
