They are horrible. They came out to repair a busted out corner of my foundation (which the stonemasons tried to hide with mud. Once the snow melted and everything dried out the problem was visually evident). The first repair was done with vinyl sidewalk patch. I called them and made them come back out and they put more of the same material on over the old. They made a third attempt and did the same thing. I told them that was enough. I removed the poor repair. Went and bought the proper materials and performed the repair myself. The Warranty manager asked me if there any was anything else she could do....to let her know. What a crock! A month and a half later they came to put sod in our front yard which was included with the purchase of the home. They did not till the soil they did not put down topsoil. They spread sheep maneuver over construction debris and laid the sod in a patchwork that wasn’t even symmetrical. And then they didn’t roll it afterwards. Which left air pockets. Most of the sod was dead within 24 hours. It took much work emailing back-and-forth with the Warranty manager. To the point I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Next day they came out and ripped the sod out of everybody’s yard on the block. Left a huge mess. And said they would be back with new sod on Monday. We will wait to see how it goes. My advice is stay away from Richfield homes. Their warranty department is run by inept folks that would rather argue and make excuses than take care of simple issues in a timely and professional manner.

    Build a home
    $500,000

My experience with Richfield has been horrible to say the least. If I could give them no stars I would. Everything was fine during the purchasing process however once we bought the home it went downhill very fast. First, my home smelled like sewage for the first 1.5 YEARS! The smell came through my vents when my heater turned on! It was so bad I had to leave my home! After multiple plumbers and 2 different inspectors I personally paid for, we found out the smell was caused by the ejector pit for the septic system not being sealed properly. Which I brought to their attention twice before and twice I was told it was fixed. The front room in my house where my 76 year old father in law lived for over a year is 20 degrees colder than the rest of my home. They have tried to fix it and still have not resolved the problem. When brought to their attention I was told by the warranty manager “well there is nothing else we can do”. That is the room my 2 year old son has to sleep in and will have to do with a space heater this year. This past winter during a snow storm, I had snow IN MY MICROWAVE! My husband had to take the microwave down to clean out the snow from the motor so we did not have an electrical fire. When I told Richfield's warranty manager, he said it was installed properly and we will see this when there are high winds. When I asked him if it was installed properly, he said of course! Mind you, this is the 3rd warranty manager they have had in the 2.5 years we have lived in this home. So how he can guarantee this was installed properly when he didn’t even work for the company when my home was built. But a few days later, I get an email that they will be coming to install the flapper in the vent that was missing and is the cause for the snow in my microwave. The hard wood floor we paid for to be upgraded has peeled and chipped and I have been told it is due to my dogs. Why on earth would you sell such a crappy product as an upgrade. I have spent countless days off stuck in my home so contractors can come in and try to fix problems that have been caused by the horrible people they hired to build this home. Part of my driveway was poured on my neighbors property! There are many, many more issues I have had with them, these are just the highlights. This home is a $500K home. Richfield does not care about you after they have your money. Use caution when choosing them to build your forever home
