If I had the option of giving ZERO stars I would. Leaving a 1 star rating is not even worth it. I’ve encountered nothing but aggravation by working with Rich.
I first contacted Rich in June of 2018 with hopes of him removing my old pool in the backyard of my house. I was quoted $800, with a $400 deposit. I was also told from Rich that the town would require a permit in order to remove the pool. It took him a month just to even get this so called “permit.” For the first month after he received the deposit, he said he was waiting to get the permit before he could begin any work.
To make a long story short, it is now August of 2018 and the pool is still there. I’ve contacted Rich several times on when him and his guys planned to come back to the house to remove the pool. It was always excuses after excuses. “It’s too hot for my guys to be out there” “we are backed up on business”
“It’s raining” “out of town had to take care of something personal stuff”
Finally after 2.5 months of the back and forth, he finally gave me a date for when they would come and remove the pool.
Guess what!? He and his guys never showed up! I have tenants who have little kids who play in the backyard , so I needed the pool removed ASAP. Three months later and the pool is still in my backyard. I wasted a whole summer going back and forth with this company, and could have hired someone else.
Two weeks ago I requested a refund for my deposit of $400, I was told I would receive it in a week. Guess what!? 1 week later, not a word from Rich and have yet to receive my money back. I sent another text earlier this week demanded my $400 back and that if I don’t receive it by Friday(the day I’m posting this review ) that I would get a third party involved to collect what I am owed.
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM RICHARDS SERVICE LLC IN GARWOOD, NJ AT ALL COST IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF HEADACHES AND FRUSTRATION.
Also, just out of curiosity I decided to contact the town regarding a permit for pool removal. Turns out a permit is not even needed to remove my pool. This basically means he lied during the first month of us doing business together, when he said he was waiting on the permit from the town.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
