Absolutely horrific. Hired Ron in August 2017. We were to receive plans in 8 weeks. Received bid set in 12 weeks. Bids came back at almost double the budget. Ron was asked to rework the plans to meet budget. Ron then recommends a GC. Ron and the GC try to convince us to tear down the entire house and build anew. Ron has already been paid $32,000 at this point. Ron states he will provide new plans at no additional charge. In January Ron states that he wants $10,000 in additional monies or he will not proceed. We are so desperate to get our project completed that we agree to these demands. Finally receive new bid set in March. Once again, design does not meet budget. Design is $800,000 OVER budget. We tell Ron we just want to go back to the renovation plan. He then refuses to send the renovation plans that we have already paid for unless we immediately send him an additional $5000!! We enlist our attorney, and Ron decides it best to send us the renovation bid set. The bid set is no where close to complete. Four contractors were asked to bid, and ALL four complain that the plans do not have appropriate level of detail or information. Meeting was again held with Ron. Ron promises to complete the plans and have plans ready in 1.5 weeks. A few days later Ron sends another invoice for $5600 and states that we must pay it immediately or he will not complete the plans!! He also states that AFTER he receives the additional $5600, he will be sending us another invoice!! He does not state how much more he expects us to pay. Verbally he demands an additional $4000. This means our $32,000 agreed upon architectural fees would become almost $50,000!! It has now been 8 months since we first hired Ron. We still do not have a completed set of plans. We cannot begin to express our disappointment in Ron's lack of professionalism and constant demands for more and more money. We are at the point of litigation.
