    We worked with John Ringland after a tornado hit our house two years ago. John is very pleasant to work with and has a strict attention for detail. If you need someone who's reliable, competent, and does fantastic work, you can depend on Ringland Development.

    Worst Contractor

    This GC in my experience is not professional. Mr. Ringland has proven to be disorganized w/ paperwork, stubborn man that makes it difficult to work with, and lacks a sense for the details needed for top-notch quality work. If you are fooled by first appearances and his "nice" talk, then at least make sure you have a good attorney - b/c you will need it. This GC at first seems old-school and you assume he's ethical, so he gets your contract b/c he seems like he's honest and will be on your team. Then he tries to match the lowest bid, promising quality, etc, etc. Then once he has the contract, he will flood you w/ change orders. If you don't sign the change orders he doesn't get work done to try & intimidate you into signing the change orders b/c you need to get your project finished. If you do contract him - at least make sure you have a good attorney on hand - b/c you will need it.

    The owner claims to be "fair, considerate, compassionate, strong, tenacious", per his own description on his website. However, he is none of these. When he wants your business, he sells himself as possessing all these wonderful qualities, and even seems like a legit nice guy - he convinced me b/c I hired him for a $500,000 plus job. But in reality he is disorganized, stubborn, deceitful, extremely difficult to work with, and has very poor follow-up skills. Trust me, he's not worth hiring.... do yourself a favor and contract another GC unless you have a good attorney to deal w/ Ringland Development Corporation when he tries to get paid for an unfinished project.
