I paid Jesus Riojas of Riojas General Construction and Remodeling a 50% deposit for a car port. He never showed up on the contract scheduled start date and he gave me the run around about starting. He kept giving me excuses about why he couldn’t start and then about returning the deposit. I had to resort to filling a criminal deceptive business practice complaint with the El Paso County Sheriffs Office to try to get my money back.

I gave half the money of the contract to start fixing the exterior stucco the same day, which did not happen until we called multiple times and he kept
delaying, until we had to reach his mother whose name is on the contract too, Lucy Riojas, finally they started after a week. The work was a disaster and we ended with more damages to our property, we filed a complaint to insurance and bond but they did not pay it in full so they are working with not insurance.
I had to hire someone else to finish the job
