    Install pool safety cover
    $2,125

Mr. Wyler came to measure our pool for a safety cover on August 2, 2021, and requested a deposit of $2125 from us. We wrote him a check that day and he promptly drove to the bank and cashed the check. After four months and many, many unanswered phone calls, he finally agreed to refund our money. THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED. We are now filing complaints with the BBB, Federal Trade Commission, Tennessee Attorney General’s Office and the public court system. Mr. Wyler has a long history of deceit. It is so unfortunate that honest people are taken advantage of by those that choose to steal rather than provide the service they pretend to .

    inground pool

Well looks like Riverwood Pools (Ted Wyler) strikes again! Signed the contract on June 1st. for a simple rectangle pool with no frills. Ted says he can get it done in 30 days and puts June 30th as completion date on the contract. No one shows up for two weeks. Gave him 4000 down payment to start digging, they came to start digging at 4:30 pm and dug most of the hole in 4hrs. Helper was drunk and kept falling down. Next time they showed up and worked for 2hrs and said hole was done. Wanted 5500 payment. Next time which was a week later they came for 2hrs 4:00pm to 6:00pm and fiddled around and hung out in the van. Ted showed up later around 7:00 and said he needed money to order the pool kit 5000. Pool kit showed up next week and they installed it. (We are now past the June 30 deadline) I asked what the backfill materials would be here and he said the gravel place wasn't open on Saturday. Next time of show up was at 6:45pm and his son started backfilling with dirt. I called and text Ted stating that there would be no dirt backfill going in. His son stopped at 8:45pm. Next time out they fiddled with some plumbing for a few hours and hit my septic line at 10:00am and left and never came back to fix it or even call us and let us know. The brick masons for the retaining wall told me about it. That was the final straw for us. Please don't make the same mistake we made choosing (or letting someone lie to your face) when selecting a pool contractor. DO NOT USE RIVERWOOD POOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    $80,000

It's been over a year and I continue to get calls about Ted Wyler and Riverwood Pools. I'm sorry that so many customers are having the same issues as we had back in 2015. The good news to those of you caught in this...is that he did finish the pool in October 2015. We were able to resolve our issues through the BBB in May of 2016 without going to court. The quality of the pool overall is great, we had a few minor fixes here and there but that is expected.

    Tips...
    - Keep all paperwork and make sure the contract has an end date AND a tardiness clause deducting a certain percent for every 14 days past due
    - Pay for the equipment to the vendor yourself, don't write a check out to Ted for this. If need be, get a cashiers check to the supplier. This way you can have it delivered to your house and have it ready for the team to install. He uses Pool Source, LLC for pump and pool equipment and GLI for liners. Amazon is good too for pool supplies.
    - Make check payable to Riverwood Pools, not Ted Wyler. He indicates it takes a few extra days for him to cash it but if your buying the equipment...it shouldn't slow down the project.
    - Leave yourself a good amount of final payment should you need to find another contractor to finish the job before summer ends.

    Good luck!!

    Buyers Beware!!

This is a follow up to my initial posting...Riverwood Pools continued to work on the pool until mid October 2015. We paid them the agreed upon price for the contract plus extra due to additional rocks we wanted added. Mr. W said that he didn't have money to pay for the pool cover per contract and that it was ordered and waiting at the store but he didn't have money to get it. We paid for the cover ourselves with the understanding that he would reimburse us. We made him sign a letter indicating such. The pool pump arrived broken so he took it and was to replace it. As of February 13th, we have not received the pump, which we already paid for personally, and have not received reimbursement for the pool cover. We talked to Mr. W yesterday and he said that "we got a deal and our pool project caused him to be behind. You need to sue me because I' not going to pay you." So we have a pool but no pump, the 90 day pool contract took 8-months, our pool cover doesn't fit our pool appropriately (not safe for kids) and we our out over $3,000. We are intending on suing him. During our construction project we went to another house that he said he installed the pool. He intended to send us there when the homeowners weren't there but they were and they told us that it took him over a year to complete their project and had similar issues of showing up and money. Buyers beware!!!

    Riverwood Pools

As per the client in Greenbrier, our contract was similar. we are at the end of November and still no concrete pad or liner in our pool. Riverwood Pools will not return our phone calls. They come to work on our pool every 2-3 weeks, working about 8 hours before they are gone again for a few weeks.

    Install Pool
    $73,800
    Pool Contractor

The contract was signed 4/26/15 for $ 73,800 to start work in two weeks with an end date of 45-60 days from the dig date. The first day of dig was June 2015. It is now July 15th and they worked a total of 4 days of which they worked a couple of hours each day. We are now left with a huge hole in the ground and walls up and minimal plumbing and we have paid $30,000. It appears that Riverwood has abandoned the job after 3-weeks of no work. I also noticed that the pool permit was pulled under my name not the company or company owner's name.

Upon further review of TN department of Commerce and Insurance we could not find a license under Riverwood Pools or Ted Wyler (Owner). Upon further review I could not find a license number on the Pool Contract or business card.

If anyone has had experience with Riverwood Pools or Ted Wyler in TN please feel free to contact me at 615-289-4491.
