I purchased a home from RLH that was built new in 2007. I previously worked in construction myself, and I am very dissatisfied with this house. We purchased it new, so I didn't really expect any problems for 5-10 years. On the outside, the house looks very nice. When we looked at it on the onside, we liked the layout and design. The problems began to surface after we were in here for about 2-3 years. The drywall in virtually every room is not good. You can look at the ceiling and see every tape joint. Some joints, the tape has popped loose. Their are countless nail pops in every room on the walls and ceilings. The walls and ceilings we discovered were not painted, only primed. Therefore we have been repainting the entire interior. The carpets are not wearing well at all. You can see carpet seams and it is pulling up in door ways. The linoleum in bath and kitchen has what appear to be nails or screws coming up through them. I had to replace our kitchen faucet and fix several leaks. The worst was when our downstairs laundry ceiling fell down from a leaking shower drain. Try to patch a ruined drywall ceiling:(. The deck is wobbly, all the nails on the deck boards are coming out, the stairs are sinking and the treads coming loose. Windows are not centered in walls, you can see places where they cut and patched drywall to move openings, we had to fix a severe leak around out downstairs sliding door which soaked our carpet every time it rained. on windy cold days, I can feel cold air blowing in around our front entry door. Stand in the garage and you can look out the cracks around the garage doors that weren't sealed. Then about 3 weeks ago, we had to put a new well pump in. As a first time home owner who signed my life away on a $185000 property, it has been a terrible experience. I would be ashamed to build and sell a house like this. After we bought the place( I was new to the area) I have heard that this company uses cheap materials and contractors. what a surprise. If you are considering buying one of their homes, or getting them to build for you, don't. There are plenty of other contractors who will do a quality job for your hard earned money. I would not recommend them for anything. I hope this saves some other person from spending their life savings on a sub par investment. There is more, but I think by now you get the point. Am I too picky? I don't know, but for $185,000, I certainly feel I paid for much better quality. Should have spent half the money on an old house that needed fixed up. If you are wondering about warranty, the house only had a 1 yr warranty. Now I know why.

He built a terrible home. The cheapest, quality, most short cuts to throw it up as fast as he can. My roof leaked on the first snow. I called him To tell him, ask for help. He answered the phone and told me to climb up and shovel the snow off of it in the most drunken form that someone could sound. Don't do business with this guy. He moves from business venture to the next. Doesnt really seem to be able to figure it out- just be a decent human Roger.
