By Laurie H.December 2, 2022Repair water damage throughout home$33,000
I was very pleased with RMJ and Sayer Anderson, the Project Manager assigned to my home. His calm demeanor, listening skills, and work ethic were important in dealing with unexpected water damage to my entire home.
His team of skilled workers moved quickly and had pride of workmanship. Sayer followed through on all he said he would do to complete the work and finished by the date promised. I am so happy to be back in my home - it looks beautiful!
Thank you Sayer of RMJ. It was a pleasure working with you. -

Had water damage in the drywall from a refrigerator line leak. Was referred to RMJ by both the plumber and the company that removed the affected drywall and did the dry out. RMJ did a great job.

My experience was made especially easy and borderline effortless with the help of April on my case, in getting my home repairs approved, in all of April's efforts in communicating with my insurance company and ensuring that they were going to cover the cost of my repairs. I truly appreciate the extra mile April went and the entire RMJ team for helping me out and making this process WAY less of a nightmare than I thought it was going to be. Thank you!

We utilized RMJ Construction to repair our water damage leak. Everyone we worked with from the initial inspector, to the person (Nate) who did the actual work, was professional and punctual. RMJ explained to us from the onset how the homeowner's insurance claim would work, what we could expect to pay out of pocket, and outlined a timeframe for completion of repairs. Sayer helped us finalize all of the details to complete the project and came to our home to do a final walk-through making sure we were satisfied. He was very helpful and answered all of our questions. RMJ did the work they said they would do and they did it within the timeframe they promised. Having them work directly with our insurance adjuster was a significant relief and one less thing to worry about from our perspective. Great job all the way around. Thanks so much, RMJ, for the great work. Our expectations were definitely exceeded.

By Dan S.May 14, 2021Garage and bedroom drywall repair$4,800
Our experience with RMJ Construction was perfect in every way. Their estimate was fair (Alstate, our insurance company, told me their bid was refreshingly reasonable and not inflated). They showed up early for every appointment, got the work done on the schedule they promised, and communicated regularly to make sure everything was being done to our satisfaction. The quality of the wok is outstanding (nobody could ever tell there had ever been a problem - everything match perfectly). Instead of just repainting over a repair area they repainted the whole wall to make sure it all looked good! I would absolutely recommend them to my family, friends and anyone else.

By BradDecember 30, 2019Just requested an estimate.
We had a evaporator cooler pipe leak in the attic during the middle of the night. We turned off the water and we were recommended to EcoDry to assess and remove any damaged areas. They were awesome!! EcoDry recommended RMJ to do the repair work. RMJ's estimator came out to do an estimate. I told him at the time, I only wanted a quote and that I would be getting a second quote. When his work was completed, he asked me to sign some documents basically saying he had done the estimate. After getting a second quote, I called EcoDry and told them I was going with a different company. A week later I received a bill for $500 and an unreadable copy of the document I signed that says there's a $500 cancellation fee. I called them to explain I wasn't told anything about a cancellation fee, neither with the estimator nor when I called to cancel. I also asked for a clean copy of the notice I signed, which I was told I would get but never received. After another two weeks, I got a letter from a lawyer saying I now owe over a thousand dollars for breach of contract and unjust enrichment with RMJ and his attorney's fees. This letter also included the same blurry, unreadable copy. RMJ never did any work on my residence. If I could leave a review of zero, I would. I cannot stress enough to not use RMJ Construction.

These guys have been nothing but trouble! We have had months and months of ignored calls and texts, they don’t finish their work. They take your insurance money and never complete the job, the work they have done is mediocre at best. I gave 2 stars for the initial tear out but from then on it’s been down hill. My bathroom is still half torn out and rmj have already billed me in full! Fraudsters in my opinion and I would recommend people not to use these guys, will be more hassle than it’s worth trust me.

By KellieOctober 25, 2019Repair flood damage$42,000Read more
We had a flood in May and now 21 weeks later our house is ruined. RMJ did an extremely poor job on all aspects of the work and damaged multiple things not related to the flood including breaking our counter tops and floor tiles. Our insurance company assessed $12k in damages done by RMJ for which we had to file a second claim on our home insurance. The work done in our home was horrific, our counter tops are set at incorrect heights and we have a large gap between the backsplash and counter and the appliances don’t fit underneath. Our kitchen island is bowed and too tall for the cabinets underneath, showing a large gap. We measured this and found one leg of the counter is higher by half an inch. We measured the kitchen cabinets and found them to be half an inch shorter than the standard height of kitchen cabinets (this will all make sense later in my post). Rmj took our alarm system equipment that was still plugged in and sealed it up inside the drywall creating a fire hazard. This is just a few of the many issues. They were consistently no showing for the work and refused to commit to a deadline , at wk 10 when we pushed for a deadline they told us they would get their lawyer to contact us and sent us a bill for $51k, our insurance check is for $42k. They claimed the extra $9k had been approved by our insurance yet our insurance told us that was not true. They were fraudulently trying to bill us for work that had not been done. I contacted the ROC register of contractors and they were an amazing help. Their jobsite inspection concluded that almost every aspect of the work done did not meet the minimum industry standard. The ROC then caught RMJ using unlicensed workers and issued them a warning. This explains the $12k of damage that was done to our property, as the workers were unlicensed and unqualified. All workers on any job over $1000 must be licensed, they can not break it up by saying painting is $1000, drywall $1000 etc, any job over $1000 total must be completed by licensed workers. If they tell you otherwise, talk with the ROC. After they got their warning for unlicensed workers they told us that they did not feel that their work would suffice and asked to terminate the contract and then got their lawyer to send a demand for $20k. Whilst their worker had been in to remove the floor tiles, he removed the kick plates from the kitchen cabinets and this enabled us to see the cabinet boxes behind and we can see what looks like a large water stain along the bottoms of the cabinets. It looks as though they have reused the original water damaged cabinets. I called our insurance company and they sent someone to investigate and he confirmed the water staining and also noticed that there were holes inside the cabinets where the counter was originally connected, which shows that they were the original cabinets and not brand new ones as they should have been. So RMJ were going to try to pocket our insurance money. It appears that they have cut or sanded half an inch off the bottom to remove some of the damaged wood and now it all makes perfect sense as to why our counters are all set too low and why they are half an inch off of the standard height. I called the ROC and they have also been out to investigate. Our lawyer contacted their lawyer regarding the demand for $20k and told him that we had discovered the water stains and within 5 minutes he called her to tell her that he had spoken with RMJ and that they would be walking away from the contact with no further request for payment. So finally 21 weeks after the flood we can begin to repair our house. Had we not discovered those water stains rmj would still be trying to defraud us for our insurance money. I can not say enough bad things about this company, do not use them and if you have found yourself in an unfortunate position like we did I can not stress enough how important it is to file complaints with the ROC and attorney general, they’ve been an amazing help throughout this difficult situation. I would love to talk to others that are dealing with them please email me at [email protected]

By Anthony S.October 25, 2019Water damage repair
Rmj are a terrible company, we were quoted 3-4 weeks maximum for flood damage, 5 months later the work is not completed. They used unlicensed workers that did a lot of damage to our home and personal property. We had to file a complaint with the register of contractors. The roc sent them a warning letter about their use of unlicensed workers. Rmj will have you sign an assignment of benefits which allows them to use a claims company to get extra money from your insurance company, the claims company is owned by their lawyer and if your insurance company don’t pay their extra demands this lawyer then comes after you, complete conflict of interest!!! Do not sign any assignment of benefits and do not sign a docusign or anything that mentions assignment of benefits. Do not let them take control of your insurance money. Check all workers are licensed and if they tell you they don’t need a license and that they are a w4 employee, they should be able to provide documentation to prove this, if not contact the roc register of contractors to check. Do not let them damage your home by using unlicensed workers.

By Victoria D.October 11, 2019Kitchen repair after a leak under my sink$4,300
I was referred to this contractor thru my home warranty company, which by the way is now under criminal investigation. I had a leak under my sink. They made huge promises that if I let them take up my huge counter that was in one piece that we would be able to replace it with something even better with no out of pocket based on the damage and what they would be negotiating with my insurance company, as they have “professionals” that negotiate for me so I get what is actually due per the damage, that never happened! Now over 2 months not only do I still not have a kitchen but my lower kitchen cabinets have not been returned and I have no prospect of a kitchen counter as they now want an additional 1500.00 dollars on top of the insurance money That they have been holding. The contractor takes a week to get back to me every time he says something is almost done and now that I have demanded an exact spreadsheet of all money spent I can’t get a response at all from him. Be very careful when getting involved with this contractor!!!!
