By Patrick Sherritt S.August 30, 2017Floor refinish
We hired Dan to redo the floors in our house, little did we know we were overpaying for someone that isn't well versed in his trade. We had concerns going in whether or not the previous owner using Euka oil would cause us problems with a refinish, we gave some of the oil to Dan for him to test out (to which his conclusion was it wouldn't be a problem if he buffed it) and hired him to do the floors. Prior to this, he gave no indication we could not be in our home until 3 days before he started (which sent us scrambling to find accommodations for our 3 dogs and ourselves) and our dogs couldn't be back for almost another week after he finished. After very stressfully (and at no small cost) fighting our way through these issues the finish on the floor never hardened and flakes off with no effort. We called Dan back to inspect which he did, and he stated he would give us our money back or put it towards redoing the floors entirely. We opted to get other bids as we weren't 100% confident in his abilities at this point, all of the bids were 2/3 or less the price of what he wanted including the refund! So after telling him we would like a refund, he disappears, and after I call him to ask about a refund (he is too good to return calls apparently) he decided he is NOT going to give us a refund and threatened ME with legal action! Its all too obvious he was just trying to get more work and money out of us. I would avoid this individual, he clearly is not a man of his word.

Wonderful jobs on two homes we have owned. The first job we hired Robbins Hardwood to do was installing hardwood floors, staining, sanding and finishing. They did an amazing job from start to finish! The second was in an old house we owned and it was a buff & coat on existing fir floors. Exceptional job. *note: fir is very soft and is not made for animals dogs as well as cats to be on as they leave claw marks, sadly because we had three dogs and a couple cats. It was explained to us that this old wood would scratch easily, but it needed to be done and we did not want to replace the floors at that time. The company was honest about the fir floors and what could/would happen. Would hire again without hesitation. Honest, trustworthy, definitely worth having done by an excellent company as well as an honest owner and crew
