    Build a road and septic
    $93,000

Seemed like a good guy. We got along great until we didn't. He did a road on our property. The road came out fine but the original estimate was $35,000 dollars with conditions (ie: if he ran into rocks etc.) which I totally understood). Money is really tite for us and he was to do our septic as well. I asked if he'd give us a discount if I paid in full up front. BIG mistake. He's had our money for over a year and still no septic. I'd gladly give him more for the septic as it turned out to be an engineered system but the amount paid in advance is in great dispute sooo. Now, he also has a anger problem. Coincidently, we know where his wife works. We desperately need a septic as we have a loan dependent on it. He told me 2nd week of September. Then he disappeared, not returning messages for a couple of weeks. So we left a message for his wife. He told me via text that if I did that again "You and I are going to have a problem." That's guy talk, intimating the possibility of violence. Raise your hand if a person you were paying for a service ever threatened you. I didn't think so. I'm going to have to get new bids and I'll likely need to sue him to get our money back. Because we won't get the loan, we now have to choose between a septic or electricity before winter sets in. He's known all this. A few more things. That original $35 grand for an estimate? Including the septic (we say $17,000...he says $6,000...see? Big discrepancy) we've paid him over $90,000. Now, what about invoices you might ask. We've been asking for those for over a year too. I'm willing to ammend this review if he makes this right but I'm guessing, based on other reviews ive found (search for them. I'm not the only person he's done this to. You could be next) So, avoid him like the plague. If you don't, at the very least, get EVERY DETAIL IN WRITING! Then brush up on your self defense skills.

Build a road, and install a septic system
    $93,000

It is with great disappointment that I share my experience with Eric Roberson and his company, but after months of trying to communicate and complete our agreement with him, only to have him ghost us, I feel it only right to inform and warn others who may seek to utilize his services.
Last summer, we bought 10 heavily-wooded acres and contacted Eric to put a road into the property. He was new to the area and just trying to get his business established in the Spokane area. He seemed very eager to take the job. He originally gave us a bid of $35K, which was subject to change depending on obstacles, namely boulders, that he may encounter along the way. He did, in fact, contact us several times stating he needed more money, which we would get to him ASAP (we lived in another state). He also agreed to install our septic system once the road was in. Long story short, we ended up paying Eric over $90K, $17 of which was the overage that we paid for our road, and which he was to apply to the septic installation. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the septic system could not be installed last Fall, once the road was in, and had to be postponed until this year. Eric has had our $17K dollars for over a year and now claims that it was $6K, at the most. Over the last year we have asked him countless times for receipts for his work. He has yet to give us a single one. He has ghosted us multiple times, refusing to return phone calls or emails. He has no-showed when he promised he would start our septic "the second week of September"...no call with an explanation or attempt to reschedule. We have been forced to accept that he has no intention of finishing our job, or of returning our $17K that he has had use of for OVER A YEAR, and we will have to deal with resolving that through the legal system.
My advice...find a more reputable company, with an owner of honorable character and integrity. It most assuredly is not Roberson Excavation & Tree Service.

    Dirt removal and drain installation
    $7,000

We had a bad water/flooding issue with our yard. I dug a trench out and originally hired Eric to remove all the dirt and mud from my yard. He claimed he could take care of the water issue as well by installing a large drain. This was this past January. He started by moving all the dirt and mud I had dug out across the entire lawn into the corner of my yard, creating a mud pit in my entire back yard. He also dug out more sod to create a swell. Well then the weather turned and Eric pretty much disappeared on us. We stopped hearing from him, he would say someone would come by and drain our yard and no one would show. Spring came and our yard was destroyed with how he left it. He would not answer our calls, texts. When we did get ahold of him to try to get on his schedule he said he would have to check his books and get back to us. He never did. I found a new company to do the job and told him that and asked for a refund. His response was they would adjust for the work they did and send us a check. Of course I never received a check or heard from him again. And the “work” they did costed me thousands more to fix. Please do not go to this guy. He was unprofessional, terrible at communicating, and he took my money and didn’t finish the job.

Remove two large trees and grind stumps
    $4,200

We had to have two very large bull pine trees removed and stumps ground.. I did not know what to expect as this was a first. Eric made me feel confident that everything would be done correctly and efficiently, and it was. The work they did was outstanding and cleanup was quick and thorough. My stumps were ground perfectly and today there is no sign the two trees existed. Very friendly in nature and enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend Roberson Tree Service.
