    We highly recommend Robert Flynn, owner of Monterey Pro Builders. He has integrity, is honest, highly skilled, competitively priced, hard working, is a perfectionist, easy to work with, dependable and responsible.

    After interviewing and getting quotes from ten different contractors, we selected Robert for our addition on our two story home, extending upstairs master bedroom and downstairs family room eight feet. We were impressed by his thirty years experience in construction, his wide knowledge of all aspects of construction, that he seldom uses sub contractors and his ability to start and finish the project within our time frame. We had remodeled another home in the past where the contractors had not performed as promised but we are delighted by the work Robert has done.

    From the beginning of the project, we were surprised by the care and preciseness he showed. He measured everything to the sixteenth of an inch, and if there was any variance, he adjusted it. He added extra supports to the foundation and extra strapping to join the new addition to the old. This was beyond what was specified in the plans. He was truly concerned with building our addition in the best possible way. Robert worked on our project nearly everyday. He was always on site, working himself and directing his assistants. He kept us well informed on all aspects of the project, letting us know what to expect and updating time lines. Along the way, he made suggestions, like adding some outside flood lighting, and some additional cable and internet wiring while in the stud stage when these additions were easy to make. He was always very flexible, easy to work with, and a great problem solver.

    Robert went out of his way to help us. For instance, one Saturday, a copper pipe in the ceiling near our kitchen sprang a leak. (This problem was unrelated to the remodel.) Not sure who to call, we called Robert and he came right over on his day off. He quickly assessed the problem, cut a whole in the ceiling to locate the leak, and did a temporary fix. The next day, Sunday, he returned and replaced the damaged piping. When we asked him how much we owed him, he only requested the cost of the parts he used. When the addition got to the dry wall stage, he replaced the ceiling dry wall where the leak was, texturing and painting it along with the rest of the addition.

    The large amount of rain during our project delayed the finish date and we had an out of the country vacation planned for over a year and a half. We went on our vacation, confidently leaving the remodel in Robert’s capable hands. When we returned, we were very pleased with the final product. Robert has been back a few times, checking that everything was done to our satisfaction. The incidentals that we did find, he fixed quickly and effectively.

    My wife and I are retired teachers and are both perfectionists. Robert is by far the best contractor we have known. We would unconditionally recommend him for any job where you want quality workmanship at very reasonable prices.

    Shaft prep for a wheelchair lift

    My job was small so it was VERY hard to find a good contractor willing to put in the time when everyone in my area is overbooked with whole house remodels and construction. Robert agreed to work me using his crew on down time from other projects. I was and am thrilled. Got it done. Got it done well. AND came in a bit under what we expected for costs. HIGHLY recommend Robert and his crew.
