    Structural repairs
    $9,100

Very happy with the work carried out by Bob and his team. The work included replacement of a main beam as well as 5 floor joist. That was very nicely done, th crew was very friendly and left the basement clean when they left. I can only recommend.

Bob and his partner have done two projects for us this year. Bob is a certified structural engineer so we asked him to give us an assessment of our 1895 building that is used by the Lions Club for their thrift store. The assessment included a detailed walk through where Bob and Don explained in detail the needs of the building. Some of the damage we thought was caused by structural issues, but they showed us that those were caused by roof leaks and, structurally, they recommended an upgrade of the basement's metal lally columns. The evaluation occurred in late fall/early winter with the repairs scheduled for the spring. Bob's partner, Don Atkinson, supervised the installation of the lally columns. The project was completed on time and effectively. Unfortunately, the Lions had installed heavy shelving on the second floor of our building and with the windy building the extra weight had caused the first floor beams to develop new cracks and the support post to move. Don noticed this while he was working on the basement projects and walked the Grange Board through the problem. Because Bob and Don had done such a thorough job explaining the condition of our building in the initial analysis, we could all see the new damage. One way to solve this problem would have been an expensive complete post and beam replacement or the addition of other support posts which would have reduced the usefulness of our sales floor. Bob designed a custom system of wrapping the old beams and posts with modern laminated lumber. This solution, currently being installed when the Thrift Store is closed, should solve the problem at half the cost. Bob and Don have been great to work with-personable, knowledgeable, and willing to take the time to explain things in detail. Bob came highly recommended as a structural engineer from my contractor friends and he and Don have exceeded expectations.

The company met my expectations. They left our basement reasonably clean as, I feel, no contractor will cleanup to the same extent as the home owner. As for work, they replaced some floor joists and beams, within our basement, supporting our first floor. Three (3) support columns were also installed to support various multiple beams. I thought the employees were considerate, friendly, and hard working. I would recommend Home Structural. I would invite them back to my own property for additional work.
