Just make sure you have a contract. They were recommended through my family. We waited months until they could start which was fine with me. I asked if they could stop at my house to let me know what I needed to buy and that never happened. They called and said we can start Monday but I was never told what I needed to get. They told me they only had one month until the next project started. They came out and told me what I needed to purchase. We immediately went to Home Depot and ordered the flooring. Unfortunately, Home Depot waited another week to order our flooring. Once the flooring came in, we left them know. They said they started a basement and would not be able to come out until Wednesday and Thursday. We ripped out all the carpeting, pulled up all the Staples and nails and moved all of my furniture into my sunroom and garage. I got a phone call on Tuesday saying they can't come out on Wednesday because the ladies hot water heater broke. I was told the builder will call me Wednesday. I never got a phone call so I called and talked to the secretary who is the wife. She said they will not be able to come out Thursday either. I explained how I moved my entire house into my garage and sunroom. And I was told this would take 2 days. So, I was expecting them to at least come out on Thursday so I could move all my furniture back into my rooms. Friday was July 4th. Then she told me that they're going on vacation the following week. So, now they're not going to be able to come out for another week and a half. But they have nothing scheduled when they come back from vacation. Meanwhile, all of my furniture is now in my sunroom and garage. My husband got frustrated and decided to start laying the floor in the bedrooms and hallway. They were also going to fix my bathroom floor and my sunroom floor and put in new French doors in my sunroom. The builder called me Sunday and said they would be out Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. I mentioned to him about a 1/4in difference between where the carpet was and the vinyl flooring is in the kitchen and the bathrooms. He said that is not a problem they can fix that. I also explained to him that my husband started laying down the floor so that we could move our furniture back into the bedrooms. He said he would look at everything on Monday. We still have half of the house that needed the flooring to be laid. The kitchen, the dining room, the laundry room and the sunroom and both bathrooms. I get a phone call Monday morning at 7:00 a.m. saying that the builder's son will not come out. He said we started the project and we can finish the project. I said you told me it would take 2 days and I have two days of work for you. He said you can finish it yourself. We did not have a contract because it was through a family friend. Big mistake. We have a 2000 square foot house that we were replacing the entire flooring with the luxury vinyl plank flooring. I feel that I was very accommodating and I waited a long time to have this done to get screwed in the end.
