Paint the livingroom and dinning room
    $3,200

PAINTING CONTRACTOR HOMEOWNER BEWARE! I would NOT recommend Robins Nest Painting! What an awful experience. Ruined my 120 year old woodwork. I met Robin because she came highly recommended on FB. I reached out shared my project and she provided a quote of $3,200 and explained it was 50% up front and the final 50% due at the end of the project then another invoice for supplies. I paid her $1,600 to reserve the date- that is what she said it was for. Steep but I thought ok, getting contractors was a little tough so I went for it. I shared I was going to be purchasing my paints...contractors do not get discounts on this high-end line of paints. She calls a few days prior "guns blazing" and using a bullying and demanding tone that she was coming to my house with the supplies and paint and I owed her a check immediately..her account was dry and checks were going to bounce as a result of the paint costs. I shared I already paid $1600 so that covered it fine and to use some of that. She showed up and was still aggressive, bullying and demanding. Considering it was my supplies I wrote the check and was feeling uncomfortable right out of the start....not good. I asked her what happened to the $1,600 and she said it was gone!!!!!!!! She shows up a few days later to start the job on the 15th as we had arranged, walks in and is moody, bossy and acting disappointed - great! I had removed everything but furniture out of my living room and dining area and was ready to see how she wanted to have me position furniture. She was supposed to come prior to tell me her work flow so I could accommodate the work space for work-flow. Slatting around she started bringing her stuff and at one point got frustrated and she kick shoved her large paint tray bucket and into my entertainment center and took a good chip out of it. The project had a $3,200 budget allocated for it period dot. The following Monday, she came guns a blazing again, attitude and rude tones, she told me that she sent me an invoice. For what I asked and she told me that I had to pay it immediately...she wrote checks form her account and they were going to bounce if I did not pay her immediately and the money bullying and intimidation started all over again...She told me that I needed to pay he now, she told me to open the invoices she told me my payment options and was agitated and excited and once again trying to make me account for her poor accounting and ability to keep funds in her account to cover checks she had written. Again, I was to pay the last 50% at the end of the project. I inquired what the invoice was for and she raised her tone with me, I asked how much it was for and she had amnesia. Odd consider her pressure and high demands. She knew what it was for and i smelled a rat. A few hours later, I opened up the invoice and it was for over $3,000. I had already paid $1,600 on the project - the 50% up front. The invoice had hourly fees that she had changed to over $100 more an hour than she quoted, she started telling me how she worked hard, she should have charged me more that she "found" lead paint and wasn't going to report or follow protocol and saved me huge that my ceiling should have cost $7,000 (a room 22x14) and other ways she was a hero to me! She kept making shaming after shaming comments to coerce me into paying now $5,200 for a $3,200 - she had worked only 6 days. She yelled at me and told me that she told me it was a 3 week project and......the budget was $3,200 period dot! When it ran out, it ran out. She told me she never quoted me a price - yeah, like I am, just like every other home owner, would allow a contractor to come in and just start doing the job to see where the cost would take us - NOT! That Monday after going to the bank she came back we discussed that tuesday was going to be her last day - she started applying the satin finish to the woodwork. The next morning, it was nothing but one veil after another of runs ON EVERYTHING you can't swing a dead cat without hitting and seeing runs...down my walls, door casing, window moldings and my mantle, dental molding looks like the texture of brains because she used the wrong type af brush with the paint despite the fact that the painting store told her to use china bristles. MY WOOD WORK IS RUINED! A 1900 year old home with pristine woodwork is now ruined. She said because I made her use the $1,600 (that she said was already GONE) made it so she felt like she had no security in knowing she was going to get paid for her screw up. SHE YELLED AT ME when she told me that she wasn't going to fix it, she had already taken her next victims money and she had to go start it the next day because her reputation depended on it. Not that she needed to manage or un F her current situation. I never said I wasn't going to pay her - BEWARE SHE HAS FINANCIAL ISSUES THAT SHE TRIES TO MAKE YOURS AND DOESN'T RESPECT BUDGETS
