    The job consisted of repairing cracked drywall, replacing portions of ceiling that got wet when roof was damaged, treating any mold, applying texture to new drywall and ceiling, and painting interior of house. Length of time to complete job was 5 working days, changed to 8 days. It actually took 3 weeks to finish the job. There was only 2 guys that showed up for the first 2 weeks, then only 1 guy came, who didn’t speak English very well. There was 2 days when nobody showed up or called. The quality of the work done was good overall but it was messy. Texture got on furniture and paneling and is hard to clean rough cedar paneling. Contractor was easy to deal with and gave us credit for cleanup and “moving.” Although the job contract specified that contractor would supervise all work done, he wasn’t on site more than 5 or 6 times. There was 2 miscommunications that might have been avoided if contractor was there a little more.

    First of all I have to thank the Lansdownes for being accommodating with this job. There are always issues to deal with in a remodel and they were pleasant and understanding. Second, the job consisted of removal and replacement of all of the drywall in one room and half of the ceiling drywall in the master, not just repair. Let me preface this explanation by stating that this is a 950 sq ft home, fully furnished, with 2 retirees and 2 indoor dogs. The entire job could have been completed in 8 days if the couple and their 2 dogs had vacated the residence and we had enough room for a full crew to work, as specified in the original contract. We were supposed to move furniture and boxed personal items into another room so as to be able to work unimpeded. When we arrived the first day, with a full crew, the rooms were not packed and there was no room to move any of the furniture out. The Lansdownes said that they knew there would be some adjustments to make but they were fine with it because they wanted to stay in the home during remodel. As to the messy comment, we always clean up after a job but were told that they wanted to do it for a discount on the final payment so I agreed. I also was on location twice a week for duration of the remodel which is as much time as was needed. In the end we remodeled 2 bedrooms, hallway, laundry room, removed lighting fixtures, relocated other lighting fixtures, painted and textured all the drywall and ceiling in the entire home in three weeks. I am proud of what my crew was able to accomplish under the circumstances. I believe this was a 5 star job.
